I've only just discovered this band. Of course I've known
of their existance, but I never heard it before. For reasons
unknown to me, I obviously should have heard 'em years ago.
It kicks serious ass!

Listening to the Aenema album now.
Can anyone recommend me any other releases by Tool?

I own Lateralus as well. Grrrreat album, but kind of
over-the-top with the "spiritual" stuff. The music is great
though.

tool is deffinately my favorite rock band. lateralus is
deffinately the album to check out, esp if you like
AEni (theres a big difference, aenema is the name of
the song). the most of the vids are available on the salival
box set, along with some kick ass live and unreleased stuff
(download the live version of pushit, 10x better than the
album version, i guaruntee it). o yes, and danny is the
fuckin man! as is maynard. both geniouses in their own
rights.

I heard rumors a while back, I think it was on toolshed.net
that Danny is recording some stuff with Les Claypool. That
would be insane, haven't heard anything in a while though.
Fingers crossed.

They're great. I got into them a couple years ago, MANY
years too late. Gotten bored of them fairly quickly, but
Aenima was some damn good listening, and I like Undertow and
Opiate even more. Lateralus went in one of my ears and
directly out the other.

been a fan of tool for a couple of years...first i thought
nothing could be better than aenima, but then came
lateralus...holy shit it's awesome...and the salival boxset
is also great..especially the live version of pushit...a
masterpiece..the cover of led zeppelins no quarter is better
than the original.
undertow is also good, but in a more rock kinda way.
the most awesome video is parabol/parabola...beautiful
ending

i like tool, to a point -- i thought lateralus was really
over the top hippie...so i didn't enjoy that record as much.
but it was a good followup anyhow.

Right,
Tool fucking rules your ass right to shit, then they eat it
and shit it back out, piss on it, burn it then jerk off onto
the ashes. They wail that much. Oh, and Laturalus is better
than Opiate IMHO. Well, not really IMHO, its a fact.
And Aenima is just ace. Period.

Yes, Tool is amazing. They've been my favorite band for many
years. Ænima and Lateralus are my favorites. I would direct
you to my Tool site, but the server is down right now. I've
seen them live 9 times, and I can't describe the feelings I
get when I experience their music live. It's truly a
spiritual experience. I also put together this piece on how
the album Lateralus correlates to the Qabala. Check it out
even if you're not interested in the spiritual aspect of
their music, I think you'll still find it interesting.
