after For Beginner Piano, they made a second album, but warp
said it wasnt the kind of album they wanted to release,
wasnt the direction warp wanted to go in...and no one else
wanted to put out plones album either, so after it was made
they just gave up making music.

i loved Plaything, but their album was a
disappointment...too many slow dark tracks like The Greek
Alphabet...if their new album was like that i can see why
warp wouldnt want it.

well, first, they were born. And 26 years later, they've
made a BAD album. Now, they won't try that again.

Isn't there a label that would produce their album?

Indeed what about Xltronic records.. .. .??

i agree with bob mcbob about the first album. it had its
moments, but the dark, ennio morricone influenced tracks
were not good. i loved the silly whimsical tracks, but
they're the sort of tracks that some love, some hate. the
word was, if i recall, that the second album was more of the
childlike whimsical sound.

definitely makes me want to form a label to put that record
out.

For Beginner Piano was one of the first "electronic" albums
I ever bought - I didn't know who Ennio Morricone was at the
time but I knew I loved the long dark Euro-cinema sounding
pieces. And of course the bright silly pieces too.

It sucks 5,395,728 kinds of dogbutt that we may never hear
that unreleased album (can't believe it never leaked?!)

They have a nice atmospheric touch in their recordings
though. Very smooth and pleasant
