I was actually thinking about this last night. Do i really want to put myself through the psychological torture of ANOTHER Silent Hill game? Do i really wanna scare myself again? Do i really wanna see another freakishly ambiguous storyline where almost anything can happen and most likely will? Yes, yes i do |

I seriously have a tough time completing these games. I could do it in a day, but it usually takes me three because every once in a while, I just have to say... ''enough is enough.'' Too hard on the nerves. |

silent hill games give me nightmares for months after playing them. i can't wait. plus, simultaneous xbox and ps2 release, brilliance. konami has finally seen the light. i really with sh3 was on xbox though, i would have loved to play that with better graphics. |

i hope that the playstation companies give up and just start making games for the graphically superior xbox, much like sega makes all their sonic games for gamecube. it would be the most logical decision since everyone's beginning to realize just how big the graphical processing difference is. actually, i take that back. utter filth like ffx2 can stay on ps2. |

well if you've beaten the gta games on ps2 and xbox like i have, you wouldn't be using the word "slight" to describe the graphical differences. it's the same as having a 128 meg video card in one pc and a 32 meg in another. sure they're both 3d and fairly smooth, but there's SO much more detail and better anti-aliasing on the high end one that there's no reason to play the other. not to mention the depth you can have on xbox games, there's no possible way for things like morrowind and deus ex 2 to be on ps2. the load times would be like waiting for paint to dry. and then there's the whole 8 meg long-to-access memory card vs the instant access 80 gig hard drive. and the custom soundtracks, and i've repeated myself millions of times in the other 30,000 discussions of why xbox is superior, so i tire of this. |

ok, some games... but with Silent Hill 4 I can't see there being massive differences in graphics. i've played silent hill 2 on the PS2 and the graphics were excelent, that kind of standard is fine for me. |

well that's simply because that game was developed FOR ps2, then ported over to xbox. on games like splinter cell where the process is reversed, you notice and extreme drop in graphics and an increase in load time. the in-depth games are always the best ones. i played through final fantasy x and it was so linear i might as well have gotten a bag of popcorn an some ju-ju bees. honestly, i think i speak on behalf of everyone who's thoroughly played morrowind that it seriously does ruin gaming for you to an extent. suddenly your standards are set too high for run-of-the-mill crap to entertain you any more. a negative side effect of playing such a good game. :( |

ok first off, the Xbox sucks cock, because 1. its a microsoft product, and bill gates can suck my ass, 2. it screws up so often, I know 3 people with crapboxes and it freezes often, and doesnt load shit often..... crappy system, and so who cares if it has somewhat better graphics, i could care less, the thing with xbox is that game developers will never be in greater number compared to the ps2, for good reason, xbox is lame crap. ps2 rocks the house, WAYYY more better quality games, I go to the store to buy a game and the xbox section is limited and quite crappy looking, boring titles, now the ps2! it has a ton of great fuckin games, oh and did I mention its a microsoft product and that sucks? ha. SH4 will be the shit. |

At first I kind of wanted them to leave it at 3 and call it a day. But now, after playing 3 and enjoying it so much... I think I can easily stand another. :) I guess the one thing I really don't want to see happen is a movie. I just don't think it would have the same effect. The comic is also looking pretty lame. The art is kind of cool, but it doesn't fit well. I think one of the greatest things about the games is seeing how the monsters move and twitch. Can't really pull that off with a comic. |

As much as I feel all three systems have their strengths and weaknesses, Sony will remain on top for some time. I don't even need to state how big of a flop X-Box has been in Japan (where majority of the game developers are, hence why it's not their #1 choice). |

All we need is love. They all have their merits. I have all three major consoles, and I definitely like the PS2 the most, that's my biggest library. Xbox is second and it has been getting more playtime than PS2 from me lately. I'm more into gun based games and shooters like Rainbow Six, Splinter Cell, and Ghost Recon, and Xbox delivers much better in that regard. Now, I barely ever play the Gamecube anymore, it's been very neglected lately. And one of the biggest rays of lights for me, the new Mario Kart, was extremely underwhelming and I'm definitely not buying it. I'm looking foward to Twin Snakes... and that's about it for the short term Nintendo front. Metroid Prime is going to be great but who knows when that's due out. Games are definitely much better when on the Xbox. Best recent example of this is Max Payne 2, phenomenal for Xbox and pathetic for PS2. |

Ophecks: it's not that the other consoles aren't good, it's just that people bash a video gaming console, that has and can play the best video games, because it's heavy and the size of a pc. pretty fucking stupid reasons to judge a gaming machine. you can't exactly lift arcade machines but i'm sure NOBODY would pass up the opportunity to own one. |

i prefer the companies who make the games. the only reason i have ps2 is because i dont like much of what xbox has to offer in terms of games. other than multiplatform games. but even if konami does stuff for xbox, they still do a lot of ps2 exclusive games. i am also into square enix, and as far as i can tell they wont do anything with xbox. and you wont see xenosaga on xbox. i dont doubt that xbox is powerful, i know it is. but right now considering the money i currently have and how much time i spend on games, theres no need to change. if xbox had more games that would appeal to me i would buy it. theres no way im buying it because of anti aliasing or how it has better graphics. you could improve upon anything graphically, but thats missing the point. i thought silent hill 3 had excellent graphics on ps2. as did 2. could they have been better on perhaps a different machine? sure, but in the long run it doesnt make much of a difference, as the game developers work around the specs of each system. so the graphics are a bit different, big deal? unless you are ultra picky like mp3 nazis who only listen to 13409342353 vbr ogg lame gigaram studio kymalogic 1.5va.zip.rar.ape platimenium gold standard mp3s, i really would see no need to switch suddenly for me. but, thats just me eh. |
