The worst music was in the Nirvana era.
Nirvana was great, but everything else were Nirvana Carbon Copies. The butthole surfers were cool though : )
And of course sonic youth.
Music now is amazing. There are some many good 'local' bands on the net its retarded.

I didnt like 94 too much. Was really boring. 1996 was insane good. When Manson popped up it was really different and new (for my generation at least).
Before that it was all guys in flannel singing songs about their dead pets.
Big Muff Pedals ran wild.
1996 brought a lot of great new releases.
I hate it when good music is on TV. It's like eating 5 boxes of your favorite cereal in one sitting.

I liked 1994. Amber came out and I started listening to Autechre. 1991-92 was a nice music time for me also. KLF and The Orb. I was probably the first one to listen to The Orb in Sweden. Ok, maybe not, but I was in the top10 (I don't think you can find 11 Orb fans here).

I've always maintainted it was 1969, no diggity no doubt. I just copied and pasted from another topic I was in a while back-
''The Beatles- Abbey Road The Velvet Underground- self titled Rolling Stones- Let it Bleed 3 CCR albums Love- For Sail 2 Led Zep albums Stooges- 1969 Silver Apples- Contact Blind Faith The Who- Tommy The Kinks- Arthur Cream- Goodbye King Crimson- In the Court blablabla Captain Beefheart- Trout Mask Replica Jethro Tull- Stand Up MC5- Kick out the Jams Doors- Soft Parade CSNY Zappa- Uncle Meat Jeff Beck- Beck Ola Santana The Band And Dylan, Byrds, Pink Floyd, Peter Green and HIS Fleetwood
Mac, 2 Jefferson Airplane LPs, Grateful Dead, Elvis, Allman Brothers, (Small) Faces, Strawbs, Sly Stone, James Brown, Miles Davis, debuts for Yes and Genesis, and way more than I can't think of, just crazy.''
And some Harry Nilsson, some Al Kooper, probably some Tiny Tim, who knows what else.

Definetly '93 for me...
Mostly 'cos of the acid techno scene, rave/hardcore, US house, and Nirvana, Tool, best US hiphop, Tribe Called Quest...
Songs like Domino - Ghetto Jam (summed up early 90's hiphop for me - west coast stylee!)
Sonz of a Loop da Loop era Shades of Rhythm Prodigy Experience Nevermind FSOL - Lifeforms Criminal Minds (from my small home town)
LOADS of great Trance techno about back then...
The main thing, for me, was how fresh the electronic scene felt - These days it often feels kind of claustrophobic and stale to me - At least compaired to back then, when most "normal" people found repetetive music offensive, or assumed it was just made for taking LSD and ecstacy to...
Back when I was 14, going to a rave was like being at the cutting edge of a whole new scene - All the lasers and video projectors - There wasn't as much drug taking going on back then either - No matter what people tell you! Nothing compaired to these days!
