it's bad. you open always is a nice track. i haven't given
this cd a thorough listen but i think i will for the rest of

this cd is excelent, she's very underrated. One of the best
electronic records i've bought recently, love the sounds she
uses.

It is very good.

Now expect some stupid ass to come in here and make the
comment about how she's on Warp soley because she's either
a) married to Sean Booth, or b) because she's female, or c)
both.

there are far to many stupid comments like that about

ive seen her perform nanu live and she is in league with SB
or RDJ
and the album is good

i used to dislike her since i thought prickle sucked.
nowadays i don't dislike, i respect. played a track from
prickle at a party too. i bought skimskitta cd, then
borrowed it to my friend because we had a project and i was
looking for samples of what kind of sounds i like. she still
has the cd, and i don't even remember how it was :D anyways
it's all good. i love the sounds she uses, there is much
intuition and feeling in the songs while she might not have
the ultimate skills.

its a little toosubtle for me to get into, its a bit
like boc, only with less tunes and more 'being one with
nature'. but i do like how the first 7 tracks mix into each
other, and the rest of the album has more seperate tracks.

Jealous pricks. Not only is ms calix very talented and
deserves her place on Warp (more so than some of the artists
on there) I am pretty sure she was a press officer for Warp
and had her first single released through Warp before she
got married. Indeed I believe she met mr booth through her
links to Warp.

Lee is right. Anyway I haven't listened too much of her
stuff, but I can say she deserves a place there..

I stand by the original review I gave 2 years ago.

There is a description I found in an online review for
another album (I beleive it was confield) that I beleive
applies to skimskitta, more so than any other album I have-
"it is a work to respect, not enjoy"

is it possible to discuss the music?
most of these threads discuss many things aside from the
actual audio content of the releases.
i.e....gossip, technology, etc . . . read sound on sound or
OK/HELLO. .. .
there are interesting things related to the artists and
releases but some actual discussion of the music would be
good.........thats why were here?
actually..... being racist / sexist and homophobic seems
pretty popular too.

anyway..... it sounds good ;)

that amatuerish feel is the power of that album i think.

If sounding like it was made with fruityloops is powerful,
then it might be the Oprah of IDM.

mira calix is great, but my favorite release would probably
be 3 commissions. i don't really see how she's more unfit to
be on warp than any other artist there.
