i believe the person is counted on as signed on even if they are not on this page (after logging in without logging off) i guess is why there seems to be very minimal activity sometimes while a good number of people are signed on.
that autechre remix of team doyobi is nice.
i'll check these out in a bit.

Miniature american flags:
I like the chord progression, catchy, but twists your ear just a bit. Steady beat, bit too repetitive for me. The melodies really stick in the background, push them forward a little in the mix and I think it would help the overall effect maybe? But that depends, the ethereal effect works well as an ambient exploration
The minor chordal stuff is a little off, the half tones prevent it from flowing evenly, that make sense? Cool idea, but needs some tweaking. Minor/dissonant chords are hard to perfect, especially in electronic when the exact note you're playing isn't for certain sometimes.
Great plucked electronic noise, easy to hear at the end, I like the sound of that.
Splintered:
The piercing sound works with the background you add in, very nice introduction.
The panning on the beat in the beginning is very nice, adds depth. I was going to say the beat sounds a little lost, not quite in front, not quite in back of the mix, you might want to push it one way or the other, but the panning sounds wonderful.
Same type of soundscape it sounds like as the previous song, lot of long ethereal lines and plays on chord progressions. Need to play with the mastering, too many effects on it overall makes it sound a bit muddy (at least in my opinion?). Since I don't know what you're going for exactly, I just say what I think.
Very nice use of delay on the high electronic melody(?) in the middle. Transition is nice with the plucked piano stuff, I like the melody there, kinda wish the chords didn't drown it out so much when they came in, especially since they came in so soon. Again, gets a little muddy with so much going on here.
Because the sound is so full it's hard to appreciate the changes that are happening in the background in more than an ambient listening mode, hard to concentrate on things for a long time. Maybe it's just my ADD. The full pads give it the same feeling, not much of an energy wave, drops out a bit during the middle, but because the sounds are

but because the sounds are so close even when you layer it doesn't add a whole lot to the feeling of the track. Does that make sense?
Overall, both tracks very nice, would be cool to hear you play more with the soundscape aspect of these, the panning effects and making the sounds swim through the speakers could add that depth that is missing
Kudos!

i thank you very much for your in depth review but sadly i do not understand what you mean by your paragraph that was cut in half there.
as for the sound, my favorite album of any band of all time is Yanqui U.X.O by godspeed, so basically i really enjoy the sound of tons of layers of many different instruments all doing different things.
we are trying to make music that essentially combines idm beat styles and synths with post-rock style guitar, lots of octaves, ebow, and fast picking.
however we definitely have not perfected the perfect mix of these items, and as a result each song has a different level for synths & beats vs guitar. we'll figure it out eventually though.
also this "mastring" thing i've heard so much about would probably help.

oh yeah, and as for the ethereal thing, i don't have enough knowledge of VST's to make the synths sound the way i really want to, so i drown everything in low-pass and reverb so just the melodies are audible. the synths are rather cheesy.
i suppose i need to try cubase or reason or something.
