FUCK!

I was playing my Earthbound Zero ROM on my NES Emulator -
i've been wanting to play this for a long time, and i've
been playing it nonstop all week. I get over halfway through
the game today - and all of a sudden, at a critical point -
this screen comes up:

"This is an illegal copy. This copy will not continue to
function."

AAAAAARGGGGGGHHHH!!! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!! UUURRRRRGGGGHH!!!
ODDIO SMASH!!!!!!!!

Oh shit! It can DO that? Can you restart the game or is the
file corrupted now?

I'm worried about my backed up ROM CDs now...

that sucks.. i had kind of the same thing happen on
earthbound for the snes.. except there was just one point i
couldn't get past.. the game just didn't do what it was
supposed to do..
i've checked walkthroughs and such.. and there's a certain
event that just won't happen..

*breathes in relief*

okay it's still working and my save in intact - i think
maybe the game turns off at some certain point as a
safeguard or something.

come to think of it, this Earthbound Zero FAQ i received for
it warned me about something like this - said i may need a
patch to fix it. but yeah this sucks hard!
