If only AFX had the the awesome textures and soundscapes of
AE. And if only AE had the melodics and rythm of AFX.

So in conclusion. Aphex and AE both blow hard.

Bola is now king. Thanks for you time.

i disagree with the part about afx and ae blowing hard, but
bola/jello is really really underrated.

If only artists didn't have their own style.

bola is daryll fitton, who has done a lot of mastering work
for both Skam and Warp (he mastered ae's incunabula, for
example).

his music under the name of Bola is on Skam and I would say
"Fyuti" is his best. it is very good. he has, sadly Fabien,
his own distinct style.

he also produces music under the name of Jello, on the
Peacefrog label, if I'm not mistaken?
you could listen to a LP called "voile". it's a bit more
mainstream than his Bola stuff, and, imo, not very good.

hardly listen to any of their stuff anymore.

aww man, Voile is awesome. The lungbone ep, has two killer
tracks also. Damask, + Conokut remix. The autechre remix is
nice too for some sleepy ambient stuff.

i love voile, i think that 7th song is excellent, and
another one in there as well...i can listen to the whole
thing happily.

what the hell? Autechre has a kick ass sense of rhythm and
melody... Aphex Twin just doesn't compare to Autechre imo...

autechre rythm sounds sloppy and most of their melodies seem
occur by accident. Autechre is like the Miles Davis of
electronic music. Except worse because Miles Davis actually
knows and understands key signatures and chord changes.

how dare you say that? :O

I don't know... I'd much rather listen to Autechre then
Aphex Twin...

well i didn't say i like one more than the other. I just
cant stand both right about now, and I decided I'd give a
shoutout to Bola/Jello because hes a bigger pimp than afx/ae
combined.

well maybe afx -- wouldn't say ae though. i think their
melodies and rhythms are better than afx's by far.

what the fuck is wrong with you?

weathered might be correct... but i think it just seems
weird to say that you think they blow hard just because they
don't sound similar....

I would love for a compilation album between the three
minds, but i do not think it will ever happen

I am completely satisfied with an artists work simply
because it is what they chose to represent.... like someone
said earlier... it is all about STYLE. laying down beats &
merging melodies/harmonies into them can be constructed very
differently under three minds.

Richard D. James is one of the best ever. His music is above
all you mentioned here, but i will not talk dirty about
autchere or voile or bola. it's a free world(some of the
places), but please be decent and don't spit on what i call
"The Stravinsky of electronic music"...please.

thank you very much.

ha, everything i said in this thread is just to spark
controversy. Chill out. I still think Bola is better than
afx and ae, imo.
