Lumbering overblown prog-tronica with grating annoying
scratchy sounds. Like hanging out with Styx in a machine
shop. Ugh.

yeah it's hard to know.
sometimes matmos is almost good and other times crappy and
annoying. sometimes i like them for just that.

Track #8 is cool, especially the riff that comes in a 1:34.

I think I really hate track #2.

I think it's the tone of the instruments. It does make me
laugh though, which is good.

a matmos release that kind of flew under the radar last
year:

Matmos, Wobbly, and People Like Us- "Wide Open Spaces"

an interesting improvised country break-down... hearkens
back to "the West" album... definitely worth checking if you
haven't... one of my favourite electronic albums of last
year

I liked this album a lot better than "A Chance to Cut .."
which sounded like a dryer Mouse on Mars. The West is
pretty good too, and the CD they did with Rachel's, titled
Full On Night.

I saw them live with Rachel's, which was a pretty good show.

I love the production, some novel sounds, Reconstruction is
fantabulous. I don't know if I like it better than Cut yet
though.

I wonder if qrter's ever heard matmos. He would probably
like them since they're gay.

it's .. hmm.. strange.

to think.

strange. yes.

this is actually the only matmos album that i like,
chance..., although novel in idea, sounds to generic in
style to me. the west has some great tracks but is flat
overall. this release is their best in my view. although i
wish it were much longer and more developed.
