There was word of this some time ago, do you reckon it will
happen?

no.

and if they do, they might as well sign anyone who owns a
drum machine or a bootleg copy of fruityloops.

triggering loops that go nowhere at random ;)

Nah, Warp generally go for people making something a little
bit different than the norm and trying new stuff. Besides I
don't think Snares would sign for Warp.

I don't think so. Plus he's signed to about 3 labels already
isn't he?

Warp wanted to sign Aaron some time ago but he declined
because of the presence of Vincent Gallo on the label, whom
he thinks of as a racist.

nah they won`t sign him as Warp churn out trendy art school
elitist pish these days :p

Perhaps that's why WARP still keeps Gallo (not because he's
a racist, but because Snares thinks he is, he'll never sign
up) :)

But by that logic they're offering to sign him for the
reason that they think they should but don't want to. That's
insanity.

I don't think it will happen... not because warp wouldn't if
given the opportunity... think about it... he'd make them a
lot of money (as compared to the chris clarks,
brothomstates, jamie lidells, vincent gallos, etc. of the
label)....

but he doesn't seem to give a shit about that... and right
now he's on Planet Mu: a label who is owned by Mike P, who
basically broke the man... is probably a good friend...
Snares is the star of Planet Mu, and the label is willing to
put out several albums worth of his output in a year....
...not to mention the fact that Planet Mu's survival may
very well depend on Snares' success (at least to a
degree...)...
out of respect to Mike P, i don't think he would go... and i
don't know how hard Warp would try to steal him from Mike P
either...

I don't think his sound would fit well with Warp. A bit too
gritty/dirty.

I don't think he sucks, though. I like a lot of his music.

I think DeadEight hit the nail right on the head. He's mike
p's find, and i'm sure he's going to pull a rabbit out of
his ass to keep snares on/in the line-up.

I hope he (funk) tells warp to suck an egg. Their recent
additions have been crappy...and they already hold most of
the king pins in this genre (greedy bastards)

I love how people talk shit about Venetian Snares around
here and then practically give the guys from Autechre
permission to Fuck their sisters. in my humble opinion
snares rocks bar none. I didn't like him at first, but once
i started listening to more of his stuff...it grew on me.
Autechre on the other hand just blows goats.
