i recently built a new computer. and, it's kinda a nice
machine for gaming on. my brother got me age of empires 2,
and when i try to run it, it glitches up.

it goes through the introductory cinematics just fine, but
then it locks up on (what i assume would be) the main menu.
the screen goes black, and all i can see is the mouse
pointer... which is still responsive.

any ideas?

i probably haven't spent any time playing computer games
since rogue and leather godess of phobos were
still cool.

Download the latest ATI Catalyst Drivers and see whether that
helps.

Yeah, get the drivers and then update the game to it's
latest patch. You should be fine. :)

god. just finally got this motherfucker to work.

turns out i had to disable ZoneAlarm™ to get the game
to play. dunno what microsoft is doing in the background
that zone alarm doesn't like... but, that's the problem.

the game is rocken.

good job, hope you have some good times playing it.. What I
like even more than AoE II is SW: Galactic battlegrounds.
It's the AoE II Engine in the starwars universe, me love!
