ok so i'm burning these mp3s to cd. they're in VBR if that
matters. the whole cd seems fine except track 2 which goes
into total science at about 2.42 minutes.

i checked the mp3 and its fine.

what happened?

sounds like a screwy vbr file or something. If you can play
the file with the program you use to burn them see what the
track length reads as. If it is showing the wrong lenght
try another program.

yeah i think you could be right about that. cd burner
software does indeed screw up when i 'preview' it on there
even tho it plays just fine in winamp.

should i look for a different vbr file or can i just get a
192 or better bitrate one?

My advice is to not use any adaptec burning software. I
don't know if your using it, but it doesn't like vbr. I
would eithor get a cbr file or just use different burning
software. Music Match has built in cd buring featurem or
used to, and supports vbr files very well. Good luck.

i'm using roxio easy cd creator 5.

never had any problems with it until now.

i'll just get a different track and try again. thanks

Roxio used to be adaptec. That or they are the same thing.
Another tip: windows medai player is screwy with VBR files
as well, but I don't think anybody uses it.

That's what I always do. Sometimes certain software doesn't
like certain tracks for wierd reasons.
