funny how christmas tv is the same every year - as if the
programmes were national institutions.. tradition, that
mustnt be changed.
i guess it must be because its cheaper to re-run old shows
than to make new ones - especially seeing as most people
dont really pay much attention to whats on.
there arent many decent films/premieres on either on
terrestrial tv - i suppose thats because they know that a
lot of people will be watching the dvds theyve been given
for christmas instead.

timed to coincide with christmas itself though. does that
make you happy or sad?

About 1 in every 50 houses around where I live have bothered
with decorations this year, same as the last couple of
Christmases. No-one cares any more. It's lost all of the
charm that it used to, now it's nothing but buying people
presents.

You manage to beat your father in speed chess for the first
time this year :D

I owned him with an awesome sacrifice move that put
me a knight up and got me checkmate in 2. Ha ha, I rule!

maybe if you actually tried to enjoy Christmas, you wouldn't
feel to crappy, and wouldn't feel the need to annoyingly
force your lame ass attitude on others...

cause I bet you'll get lots of nice gifts tomorrow morning,
and then after your finished opening them or whatever you're
doing, you'll probably say "oh what a SHIT Christmas!!"...
get a life!

Yeah, same here... I used to be able to beat him
occasionally, but the past two years or so he has been
pretty much unbeatable. Speed chess is my game (as opposed
to 30/45 mins each which he likes) so I had a slight
advantage, but that doesn't make victory any less sweet :)

we never play speed chess, tho perhaps i'd have more chance
in that, since it takes ages for him to make a move hehe

next time we play im going to bring a clock!

Six minutes as side is the normal rules for speed chess. I
swear he has put off actually buying a clock for over 15
years
is to limit speed chess to holidays.

six minutes sounds good...if your dad starts wining again
just reduce the time down to 3 minutes :)
