I'm getting a weird stutter feeling from the whole track,
the melody and the drums in many places. Stutters or
something.

Some really freaking cool things going on, couple places the
drums do some drill things that fit perfectly. It gets 10
times better after the beginning. Something about the timing
though. Most bars the programming is dead on but enough are
just slightly off that it detracts from the whole.

Here's the thing. The melody doesn't seem like it fits with
the drums. This could just be the mastering, but you don't
really play with the melody and the drums at the same time
besides the hits. You change the effects on the drums quite
a bit it would be really cool if you added some more things
where you did the same thing with the drums as the melody

The part with the little vocal hits in the drums is awesome,
kept it surprising, didn't overdo the sounds.

I think there's a happy medium between changing up the drums
and keeping it steady that changes the feel of the overall
track, keeps it flowing. It's something I definitly haven't
learned yet myself, got the same problem in a lot of my
track. I think you play with the drums a little too much
with the pauses and it drags the energy down a bit. Maybe
too long, maybe too many, I really don't know.

Hopefully that helps, you have a good ear for drill, will
definitly check out more of your stuff

sounds a bit noisy,no? :-)
although I really enjoy drill&bass allot
I find this one a bit cliche. mainly because of the use of
the amen break.
maybe consider using another one. the breakprogramming is
good but the production could be better. as in quality of
sound. if you pay more attention to that I believe your
tracks will become better.

nice, starts off with a chemical bros vibe, then breaks out
into structured mayhem, one of the synth parts sounds abit
random but thats about my only problem with it, nicely cut
up and fucked towards the end, the breaks sound good, not
going out of time or sounding too random (im guessing alot
of it is guesswork? which isnt a bad thing!)

thanks for the comments everyone. i was going for really
noise stuff with this track, nearly every instrument has
distortion on it :P i guess maybe i went a little overboard.
and btw this was my first track id done with the amen break.

yeah maybe a little less distortion? i dunno it's personal
prefernce but wen it comes to beats i like them to sound
tight and clean. have you tried putting a limiter on it?
that tends to stop things gettin over distorted

i'd listen but that damn site don't work with my firewall.

but here is a review anyway:

This CD is off the chain. I listen to this CD all the time.
At first I didn't think I would like the CD, but after I had
listened to the CD I liked it. If u like listening to slow
music then u would like this CD. If u don't have it then u
should go out and get it cus its off the chain.

spacecadet> no problem about the off topicness, it keeps the
thread up top dont it?

evolume> thanks for the positive review, altho it seems like
its not for my track, considering its not a cd and people
who like slow music would prolly have a seisure :P

Ok I like the feel of the beats on this tracks. However I
have to say the notes are pretty bad and the track is
overall very unstructured and quite frankly all over the
place. There a some nice ochestrial notes towards the end I
like though. The tracks lacks coherence though because the
notes are all over the place and in places actually are out
of tune. The notes you did use with the exception of the end
ones, I didn't dig at all.

actually, most places where you say the notes sound off is
because dissonance and half steps are the loves of my life,
so i use lots of them.

I like the orchestral vibe towards the end. The notes don't
last long but you should use them.

agreed, i recommend using phatmatik pro if you dont do so
already, you can chop up, filter, distort and pitchshift
just about anything and it maps it out on the keyboard for
you, it's probly the most useful music program i've come
across

I think half the problem is I use an old 333mhz PC and it
just ain't got the power. One or two VST Instruments and the
thing is ready to explode.
