Well, which would you use for recording? Is it that SX lacks the ability for the VST plugins, or are they both similar?

oh wait, I don't use Nuendo or Cubase for recording.
I generally only record my voice now and then and I do that in SoundForge. 7 point ooh.

SX is just the new version of VST, with a cleaner interface etc.
The only thing I heard that was missing from SX that was in VST was some of the MIDI functions. I haven't heard of any plug in problems in SX though.

Nuendo 2 uses a different, supposedly better code base than Cubase even though it looks quite similar to use. Supposedly SX2 will be based on the Nuendo code.

SX can use VST plugins. SX is newer than VST, and has more features, so more tools, but also more to learn.
VST was named that to highlight the fact it could use the new technology of VST, but now after it has been well established that cubase is synomonous with VST technology, it has been rebranded.
Never got round to trying nuendo or sx, but from what im read nuendo is the way to go. theyre designed for different things, but theyre practically the same nowerdays!

I still use cubase VST/24 3.27 ancient! Perhaps I will 'upgrade' to cubasis VST sometime. I don't really need SX/nuendo, and i doubt most people on here do, but if you've got money to waste, then why not?

I'm using SX 2.01 at the moment - pretty sweet release. No complaints.
