there are many differences of course... perhaps the largest
diff. is the fact this thread was initiated by xltronic.com
staff and all the members do is to fill out the form.

Yes but I know there are people here who have been shocked
and hurt by the fact people they thought they were liked by
have named them as most annoying.

Obviously this person wasn't me as I have been voted most
useful/most hillarious by some lovely people (right back at
you kids :D)

I'm not trying to be a pain here, but in what way was the
fact the question was asked by you any different than if it
was asked by just a 'member'?

some people are too sensitive - rather too easily hurt....
i know i am far too easily hurt by comments myself...

but on the other hand, what would be the point of discussing
with someone, if (s)he is totally insensitive?? i'd rather
talk to my pillow then, it would be less likely to hurt me
by insulting comments!

i avoid talking to some people on xltronic because they're
too insensitive and hurting. i don't know if they are
hurting on purpose, or if they just don't realize, because
they're insensitive themselves.......

.....but it is kinda sad i think; with people becoming more
and more numb to words, communication just means less and
less...

(of course, what i think won't affect them in any way, so i
know my post is totally useless and i won't be surprised if
you (you know who you are...) just remember this
sentence and reply: "why are you posting then?")

anyway i'm glad there still are sensitive people here ' _ '

i'd rather talk to an immature person who can be affected
too much, than to a mature person who has no heart...

In retrospect I can see that those three

Most annoying member:
Most aggressive member:
Most overrated member:

Could cause offence, but it depends how you use them and
your reason for picking someone. Most aggressive isn't
neccessarily a bad thing- I put Titsworth, but only because
he does stick to his guns and tends not to "drop" things.
That's not a character flaw or anything, I like him a lot,
it's just a part of who he is.

Most overrated member: This is probably the most harmless
one- if you get awarded this one and you don't post much,
you know it's not really serious, I mean if someone put an
account that had 4 points, this would clearly be a joke. On
the other hand, if you put someone that a lot of other
people put down as nicest/most useful/coolest, etc. then
it'd be a valid one. Without wishing to blow my own trumpet
(just using me as an example so someone doesn't think I'm
refering to them :) I got a lot of nominations for
nicest/most useful in this thread. So if someone put me as
their most overrated it would be a commentry on how that
person thought other people's opinion of me was wrong.
Personally, I'd not take any offence- if someone thinks
you're overrated, it has to mean other (and usually, far
more) people like you. We all, with the possible exception
of Jand (who I have genuinely not seen anyone have a pop at,
ever), have people we don't get along with, ignoring their
negative opinions of you is the sensible thing to do.

Most annoying is also pretty jokey- even if you used it to
name someone you frequently didn't get along with (to
illustrate a point, lets say morton and bill_hicks put each
other as theirs) the regulars to the board would probably
just get a grin out of it. Some users would probably expect
to get this anyway and would take no offense. I don't
dislike hyakusen, but he can certainly be "annoying", it's
often hard to pinpoint specifics, it's more an opinion
formed over a long time from reading dozens of a person's
posts (few people would decide th

Points: 23533 Status: Moderator | Show recordbag

(few people would decide they considered someone annoying
based on one post/thread and hold that for any great length
of time).

Finally, these do serve two useful purposes- they gauge
popular opinion, if every single person put one person as
the most annoying, it would probably work against them if
they did something that would warrant a ban. If no one here
(and I mean all of us as users- not just admin) likes an
individual, why should we tolerate them?

Secondly, they give people who might be "guilty" of these
things a chance to see how they're percieved and
(perhaps)check their behaviour, "shit- a lot of people think
I'm too aggressive, I'd better phrase things more carefully"
or "Oh- they don't find my jokes funny- just annoying.
Perhaps I should cut down on the joke/nonsense threads
etc."

People may think that last reason is unrealistic, I would
disagree. Earlier in the year a lot of people thought Zeus
came across as very full of himself, after a heart to heart
with him he realised that people had a view of him that
wasn't like him at all. As it was a few things he said that
could of been worded differently or made more obvious they
were a joke/lighthearted worked against him. Since then I've
noticed his post style has changed slightly (to rectify
this) and now a lot more people even if they don't like him
(I do like him BTW), at least get along with him.

People will also possibly argue we ought not to change our
behaviour to please others- again, whilst I don't think we
should go out and start listening to Armand Van Helden
compilations and start shopping at gap to "fit in" better,
any society places certain restraints on how we behave.
Civiliasation is all about keeping our animal instincts in
check. With that in mind, we ought to all moderate (no pun
intended) our behaviour to a degree, if only to "get along"
with those we dislike or in the worst case scenario, avoid a
ban.

Sorry, for the essay, but it's christmas, so indulge me ;)

from my experience im annoying right for one or two threads
i made. this is strange coz ive seen that many people are
spamming threads - not spamming like ******mer, but ( for
example) posts like " hey", " yo" "lol"
ive done it also few times, but when i look at threads of
others i can easily find more annoying threads/posts than
mine's.
im not happy to se that im annoying to many people here, but
for fuck sake - these opinions wil not change my behaviour
here, im not gonna change my jokes, post, whatever.
its just sad that you can have such opinion for one
post/thread/misunderstanding of english grammar

and , lice ecnadniarb said - its sad to see that persons
which you thought that they like you - they think that you
are annoying - and speak that "annoying" doesnt mean "
dislike" - its very similar( at lest for me)

more :

i think that we have bunch of friends and they give support
to eachother - without tolerance to others.
and, as far as im conserned - i will hear that im still
complaining ( and i will hear that only for this post)

this is what i cant understand - but like i said- i rather
want to put blame on culture differences, than on others bad
behaviour

I don't want to get into this too deeply, but you do seem to
assume a lot.

"ive done it also few times, but when i look at threads
of others i can easily find more annoying threads/posts than

mine's."

when people say they find you annoying, this is how THEY see
it - whether YOU think you are less annoying than others is
completely beside the point.

"its just sad that you can have such opinion for one
post/thread/misunderstanding of english grammar"

maybe, just maybe it isn't just based on one
post/thread/misunderstanding of english grammar. you just
don't know that.

in general, I wouldn't pay too much attention to it though.
at least to me, those answers don't mean that much, really.
