Cry into your cereal as you realise you will probably never
even see one in the flesh, let alone own one:
Famicom SP

yeah, i had seen this one...
nice concept but really ugly! ; )

(if i was buying one i'd take the red one, or silver one...
i'd buy one but it's really expensive, even more expensive
than a gamecube - and the games aren't cheap either)

work

Erm no- that's the point... it's the original Famicom
(Japenese NES) colours... the "chassis" is just like a
normal SP.

while....gotta build up the stamina

I'm getting the silver one for Christmas, along with Street
Fighter Alpha 3, and Super Mario World... should be fun! :)

and I love those colors... looks so cool and retro!

I personally don't like the look of it either, I prefer my
black one, it matches my Gamecube!

i think it would look really good on my dashboard.
Those were the days when they didn't think about the look of
something

looks great. even though nintendo are a bunch of twats for
making the gba sp.

They are not a bunch of twats at all, they took their top
selling hand console, and improved it big time!

and how would YOU feel if you bought the 'inferior' model,
merely a few WEEKS before this 'new and improved' gadget got
released?

just as gb pocket became inferior to gbc,
then gbc to gba. and gbc hasnt had a very long life either,
even though it had potential (tetris dx is great).

I'd feel cheated, I supposed. But being the Nintendo fan I
am, I knew of the SP launch long long before it came into
the stores. Besides there are stores, like GAME here in the
UK where you can trade in consoles.....so I would probably
would trade it in, and pay the nominal difference! Job done
- quit simple really.

apparently, they'd also release a new design of GBA SP for
the 14th anniversary of the game boy: picture....

....i hope it's a fake o_O
not only it's very lazy and nothing really new (they just
assembled to halves of existing ones!) but it's ugly!!!

blah, nevermind it's official... *shrugs*

I love it how it looks. I've seen someone offer it on a
dutch auction-site for 150 euros. Still expensive, but
affordable... i was very tempted :-p

But to get it just for it's looks... it seemed like a waste
of money.

Nah, i still think the old gba is better. I prefer how it
uses ordinary batteries. Also i've heard stories about how
the GBA SP ehr... i have no idea how to say that in english
:-s.

But you know... at the point where the two halves are
connected, that point wears out relatively fast, and after a
few months already it becomes less stable and doesn't stay
open as easily. I also think the old GBA looks more
comfortable... altough I must admit i haven't played on an
SP myself yet.

I think it looks amazing... but also, the graphics of the
games look amazing too, when you consider how small the
thing is... gonna be great fun to play on christmas! :)

first time...

own it, but I haven't played it very much... and I'm a GBA
SP and Super Mario World for it for Christmas! :)

This SP was released to commemorate the Famicom's 20th
anniversary in Japan...

What you want to bet they'll release a NES-flavoured one in
2005 to mark the NES's 20th anniversary in the US/UK?

That would be fantastic and I'd almost certainly get one,
even though I'll of probably switched to an SP (rather than
normal GBA) by then. They'd better do it with the lower
section controls looking like the old nes pads and not just
do a cop out lower section dark greu upper section light
grey...
