I'm surprised i'm the first one to mention how unbelievable
awesome this album is. It's still in a class of it's own.

I love Tri Repetae, Garbage AND Anvil Vapre.
Although have them all seperately.
Stud = stunning.

Or should I say studding?
No, I shouldn't.

I think I'd put it in my top 5 "two word titled double album
with first word beginning with t and second word with r,
with two + signs at the end" list... MAYBE...

earthleakage said it.

I love Autechre but this album is probably my least
favourite Ae album. And I'm not just saying that. I still
don't understand why it's so reverred.

Perhaps I should clarify my position.

Autechre are the best thing to come out of this whole IDM
shit. Best by far.

Tri Repetae is okay. But compared to Amber, Chiastic Slide,
LP5, Confield...come on! It's no match for those albums.

I know how some people may not like it. It has to hit that
certain special place in your heart to appreciate it. I
disliked it at first, and now there is something about it
that keeps calling me back.

I love Tri-rep++ because its crammed full of 3 albums. Great
little value. I think it has amazing sounds that are used in
a dance setting (i'm a sucker for teh danceable) and
Bronchusevenrmx is one of the best psycoactive songs i've
ever heard. Probably my favorite release by AE.

Clipper whisks me off to 2049. It's definately my fav.
That and c/pach. There are numerous ways to listen to this
album, depending on which part(s) of the track catch on to
your cerebral cortex. I've listened to it nearly a hundred
times, and it's never consistent.

Complete with surface noise. Lovely stuff.

I still stand by my original statement. Requires less effort
than Confield. More depth than Draft 7.30. Okay so I only
have 3 Autechre albums but this never fails to deliver,
especially since I listen to it rarely and discover new
things every time.

Of course I haven't mentioned the second disc, that's
something else entirely. It has taken me a fucking LONG time
to enjoy Garbage, it took for me to be on the train
listening to it with my girlfriend to get anything from it.

Anvil Vapre however was no worry... from when I first saw
the Second Bad Vilbel video I was hooked :)

Cheesy? Oh man.. maybe compared to their releases now, but
man. I remember the first time I heard Tri Repetae several
years ago.. the music was gorgeous but it also whisked me
off to a creepy land of spooky, dark ponds and cobwebby old
houses out of my scariest nightmares. Totally innovative.
This was my favorite Autechre release up until recently.. I
have since come to think Confield is somewhat superior. Tri
Rep definitely will always have that special place in my
heart as my first Autechre record though.

I was only pointing out that Tri Repetae has never struck me
that way before.

Tri Repetae... it's Autechre's first step into
contructivism and rational architecture of electronic music.
It feels to me like the work of Sant'Elia, Malevich, Walter
Gropius.

You know in their later phases they would touch into
neoexpressionism (Chiastic), and they found themselves a
niche lately by doing deconstruction (post-EP7).

I kinda classify Autechre into the 3 phases of 20th Century
Architecture :

Rationalism
Neoexpressionism
Deconstruction

Isn't that what I do? By rationalising Autechre's work
into art terms... I mean it's friggin music no? I can
classify it as an art period.

Autechre correlates as much as any other form of art to a
certain correspondance.

Why do you pretend I'm not listening to it? Heck I'm the
guy who doesn't fall into the cliché of "Oh Autechre feels
like spacy robots in the 22th century" or "that BOC songs
feels like I'm walking in antartica". That's fucking
rubbish.

There are, structural ressemblances, heck you cannot miss
it, between certain art forms of the 20th century as they
progress with the century. So did Autechre, in a span of 10
years, which by surprise is the decade which electronic art
music has exploded in style and progress. Jebus.
