Something I put together, give you a taste of things I'm
doing right now. Lot of tracks I don't feel are good enough
yet to put up for criticism.... but soon.

This is the first form of the remix until I get better
samples, so criticism, comments quite welcome.

The original track is called Revolver and can be found at
Chris Ochre's homepage at: Ochre Music, I recommend you
give it a listen first

My track is here: Revolver (Sanguine Remix) or just grab it from my
homepage at Sanguine's place

Any of my tracks I drop will be on Soulseek if I'm ever on

this is VERY nice.

i'm surprised you don't upload stuff to be heard here...

it would probably be some of the better stuff on the board,
easily.

to backup my comments on the ochre remix: the thing i
really dig is that you didnt COMPLETELY re-wire the song...
it's almost more an appendage of the track, which is nice. i
could see it coming right after the original, almost liek a
"part 2" kind of thing.

coma: i can see straight away that the pretty and
emotional synths werent solitary to the ochre remix. very
ncie control over the rhythms and the way the tracks float
in and out. the one thing id suggest is perhaps getting into
stuff on a program liek cubase where you can do some really
intricate things with the tracks so that it's not quite as
loopy. but you do a good job of arranging the flow, so it is
kind of like a top-coat kind of thing i'm suggesting.

i REALLY like the whole thing that its doing here in the
second half. lovely.

riding a windwill: ah, lovely intro. this is very
relaxing. i picture alot of pink hazes and white and puple
water and stuff. very dreamy. once again, if you might be
thinking of going in the more glitchy direction (a la mouse
on mars) with your rhythms (which it seems you are) then i
suggest something liek cubase or even their lite version to
use as a tool in your music. i love the sounds of the zappy
rhtyhms. this is very yummy. halfway through, and WOW! nice
jazz breakdown!!!!!!!! i did NOT expect that.
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAH! wowee!!!!
oh hell yeah. *grooves*

i can tell you right now man, you got it. seriously, you got
some talent. keep at it, im very interested in hearing what
you'll do with stuff. that jazz thing is some of the most
original stuff i've heard come out of xlt. no joke.

that was SO left field, but it worked BEAUTIFULLY.

bloody koala mix: once again, my only criticism is if
you had a way of further effecting and manipulating the
beats, theyd sound amazing. as is, they do kinda sound a
little loop-ish.

NICE SPANISH GUITAR!!!!!!!!!!!!

mmmmmmmmmmm
this is what im talking about.
nice "star falling" sound.
*trances out for rest of song*

I'm using Cubase mate, just still getting used to
everything... very very complex program, just scratching the
surface

Seriously, thanks for the comments... more tracks coming
soon, definitly

oh yeah? cubase is great.

are you usig the midi drum thing?

a technique we've started employing on stuff is exporting
stuff sometimes a few times as sounds, then loops, then
whole parts... so we can effect and chop them and stuff.

it takes LOADS of time to do, but its well worth it.

cheers, and i look forward to hearing more from you.

MIDI drums, yeah, using Battery as a drum machine for the
most part, but it's limiting in a lot of ways. Experimenting
with the MIDI functions and such, can do some really neat
stuff... I think that's how Jenkinson does a lot of his
drums, heard a lot of similarities between that and things
I've been figuring out

hmmm...

well, like i said: you have a strong sense of melody and
sounds and the arrangement. the onyl thing i see that needs
practice is the finer detaisl kinda thing (which we ALL need
practice on). loved the tracks, listening to windimill
again.

I've been in a strange remixing mood lately, like I need
somebody else's ideas to fuel me... weird feeling

Yes, details! Every time I finish a track it has more
details in it, it's hard making those details heard,
sometimes I find things are just too subtle and it doesn't
add what I wanted to the piece.

Plus once I finish a track, it's pretty much done, I don't
like remixing my own stuff unless I completely rip it apart
and restitch it together

I really love the Ochre original...but your arrangement is
just on some whole other level shit :D

Reminds me of ICBYD era Aphex...amazing stuff :P

Yeah not bad. Quality stuff. I know the original well, so
this is really a honest remix I would say. Most remixes tend
to sound nothing like the original and just be extra tracks
to fill up e.p's but this is nice.

I think that might actually snip the original Ochre track as
being actually better. The last couple of Ochre trax didn't
actually blow me away, I mean quality and all just didn't
grab me in the usual way.

Yeah, I'm not sure what I think about the violin part... I
think one of the big things I like to do is make people a
little disconcerted during the break or little change ups. I
avoided it in a lot of my tracks recently, but it's just fun
to make people turn their heads when they start getting into
the music, wondering if that really happened or not...
hehehe... it's like I'm the evil garden gnome of IDM

Thanks for the comments, really appreciate them... hearing
this stuff helps keep me motivated to do more =)
