much to the dismay, my school, who runs their IT dept and infrastructure like i would expect my mom too (shes never even used a PC in her life). it was a joke. well i took advantage, and now it seems that someone who actually did some work around there noticed the increased bandwidth. Basically, I had a server in my buddy's dorm room on a public network that ran over the same wire as the NAT'd private school residential network. Well they must have noticed the 40+GBytes/day that I was pushing out for the past week/2weeks. My roomates drop was unplugged physcially at the hub/switch. I did some pings to the 198.111.36.x network and didn't see anything in my arp cache :'( tracert'd to a device and sure enough hit 2 router interfaces. they moved that network to another vlan and not much I can do now at the moment. sorry guys, you have no idea how pissed off I am. :'( |
