Hi guys, can anyone recommend a free "chopper" or "stutter"
VST plugin that can be applied as an effect in real time (IE
it doesn't act as a sampler that cuts up the sound)?

I had one a while back that was great, but I can't remember
what it's called. Cheers.

perhaps the dfx midi gater fx? Sorry mate, plugins aren't
really my thing, too fiddly and I only use retro cubase
vst24.

or route it via your mixer and cut it the old skool way. btw
got that new mixer yet?

Sadly, it appears I have not won kid koala to come and play
at my house and leave (amongst other things) a Rane TTM 56
mixer behind, so it looks like I will be buying a Vestax
PMC06 Pro D in Feburary as originally planned.

I've only got a SB Live 5.1, so it's not like I can route
that one audio channel out so I would only be chopping that.
If I were to render that one channel as a wave, burn it to
cd and then crab it to bits on the mixer I may as well use
one of the plugins that works on samples rather than in real
time. That dfx gater looks promising though, I'll check that
out. Thanks Dave.

I'll put this in my favs so if you remember just post it,
cheers :)

(I've noticed I have been putting a lot of me and I's in my
text of late, sounding like ahabitual crack user- I blame it
on having to write loads in the passive the past month for
essays and now I can say "I" I'm doing it to extremes...)
