I just read that the 'original' Lennon song happy christmas (war is over) is going to be released as a christmas because of the outrage the Pop Idol version has caused. Is this really true? I'll be buying it if it is, he's probably turning in his grave at the thought of TV show finalists making a shitty version of one of his songs just for publicity and money, it makes me sick! Anyway, Lennon died 23 years ago today so i've been listening to lots of Lennon songs. I find the Happy Christmas (was is over) quite haunting, especially when the children start singing 'lets hope it a good one without any fear' |
