Last week I got totally into Chrono Trigger. I can't
believe what's happening to me, but this one good game. As
I'm not really into this roms business i hope some of you
can help me!

What are some good games to look after?

I LOVE rpgs like this....

NO!

I really hate this game, for some unknown reason. Maybe
because it's terribly frustrating. Or because the main
characters are annoying uncharismatic monkeys.

Hmmm...

1- Chrono Trigger (the best ever)
2- Earthbound (also the best ever)
3- Final Fantasy 6
4- Super Metroid
5- Super Mario World
6- Zelda 3
7- Illusion of Gaia
8- Mega Man X
9- NHL '96
10- Final Fantasy 4

Gwely- Zombies Ate My Neighbours was great. It had a lame
sequel though... too bad it hasn't been brought back to the
next gen systems, it had a great premise.

I thought the SNES version of Beavis and Butthead sucked,
but the Genesis version was great... well, for Beavis and
Butthead. I remember looking for the GWAR tickets in that
one. Tough little game, too, especially on two players when
you're fighting over the weapons and the food the enemies
drop. Dissension in the ranks crazy sty-lee.

Well if we're talking about rpg's... get Illusion Of Time,
one of the nicest rpg's i've ever played (besides Chrono
Trigger). And ofcourse the Legend of Zelda is also a must.

Secret of Mana is alright, but somehow not really "great"
imo. Mainly because the controls are so frustrating.

I'm currently playing (or trying to play) a game called
Wonder Project J. The biggest problem is that it's all in
japanese, and i don't understand a word of it :-p

But the game isn't that complicated, and i printed out a
walkthrough from gamefaqs.com, so it's possible.

It's a wonderful concept. You have to raise a robot by
teaching him how to do certain things. At first he doesn't
know anything and he crashes into walls all the time, tries
to eat the cat and he screams at doors to open them. But you
can slowly get him to understand how everything works, and
he can actually complete missions. I can't really recommend
it because of the japanese. You have to be willing to put
alot of work into it to enjoy it. If only it would have been
released outside of japan. It definitly has the best
graphics i've ever seen on SNES. Also some of the best
voices (in japanese) i've ever heard it produce.

I've been meaning to turn my Sega Dreamcast into a SNES
emulator. I don't have the link anymore, but I suppose
google will help. You basically make a boot CD and then load
up the ROMS.

Super Mario World is my fave. Probably the best of all
Marios ever made IMO.

It's all about Secret of Mana! My favorite game to date.
The music is the main highlight...I never get tired of it.

The SNES was the golden age of gaming for me. I guess
because at the time, I rarely got new games, and was stuck
playing the same RPG's and whatnot over and over. Now, that
I have no problem getting new games....it's like there's so
many to play and so little time that I don't finish any.

p.s. 'Dark Lich' song from SoM is badass...check it out,
you'll see what I mean.

Why do i feel like i'm the only one who doesn't "get" secret
of mana? :-(

I mean i like the music and graphics alot, sure. The story
is pretty good aswell... but i find the game almost
unplayable :-s

Even just walking around feels clumsy somehow. Not intuitive
at all. Maybe it's because of the animation which uses so
little frames, makes it all feel like the sprites are just
sliding across the background.

Fighting enemies is boring too. It's obvious they took the
turnbased-rpg formula and just turned it into a zelda-esque
game... because all the fighting simply consists of hitting
the enemies over and over until all their hp runs out.
There's no strategy at all. All enemies act the same, the
only difference is that you have to hit them more times
towards the end of the game.

And my biggest frustration is with the 3 main characters.
Maybe it was fun when you play with 3 players, but for
singleplayers the other 2 characters could have used a
much better AI! They always act like idiots in any
fight, getting hurt alot and hardly hitting any enemies. And
i just HATE the way they always seem to get stuck
around corners! God this game was so frustrating :-p I never
even finished it. I keep planning to finish it, but I never
feel up to it.

I haven't played the earlier games,.. but this one seems
fine, and plays really well, as I spend more time organising
spells to be cast and which enemies to attack in what order,
and so forth
