Electronic like Modern Art...

I went to the 'TATE MODERN' gallery in London today and I
couldn't help myself from making links between modern art
and electronic music. I started thinking about how the new
generation of electrical music is like the revolution in art
which changed it forever. These thoughts came to me because
of the whole experimental theme in both art and music. The
reason I am saying this is because I would quite like to
know if anyone else has made this link before or has similar
ideas?

Topics that are not related will be deleted by mods and all
that shite.

yeah, i've thought of this too!

with Merzbow for example - people can have towards Merzbow
the same attitude than people have towards some modern
abstract art.

some like it a lot and respect it, some think it's absolute
crap and everyone could do this.

also, Bernhard Günter or Ryoji Ikeda make me think of some
abstract art... paintings or scupltures, very epured, yet
interesting - more emotional for Günter, and more cold for
Ryoji Ikeda...

....also, near my university, there is an avenue with bronze
sculpture replicas by many various artists (or inspired by
them, i don't know)..... one of those is called "4:33" by
John Cage and it's just the socle with no statue on it =)

This is true but movements around the beginning of the 20th
century set off this 'changing forever', which I associate
with electronic, setting off 'the change in music forever'.

out here at the Museum of Contempory Art/ Denver, they have
done shows incorporating media and art with electronic
musicians. it's an interesting concept and a cool
presentation.

Yeah, I've seen a couple of documentaries on Modern Art on
TV and they've played a lot of electronic style music, which
I found really affective. Kind of mixes with the whole
surreal idea.

I think electronic music has more in common with pro
wrestling and guys painting flames on their vans.

But seriously, playful stuff like Aphex and Bogdan reminds
me of Joan Miro and Paul Klee.

Radiohead = Marc Chagall
Skinny Puppy = Francis Bacon
Jan Jelinek = Jasper Johns
Prefuse73 = Basquiat?
Autechre = ?

Richard Devine=John Maeda
Pan(a)sonic=Donald Judd

Autechre = ???... (could be so many, tricky to come up with
just one...)...
