ok ok .... i know all you haters will say blah blah blah
blah.....blah blah....but i don't care! ya hear that!
anyway

this movie MOVED me, the acting by all including mr cruise
(who i'm not a fan of) was superb, the cinematography was
phenominal.....it made me long for a long ago time when
things were more simple....and made me appreciate the
wonderful culture and traditions of a people i don't know
much about.

the main japanese actor Ken Watanabe was filled with such
stregth....you could feel it.

go see this movie....with an open mind!

I didn't want to read all of you text, if it contained
spoilers or something,
but I really like Tom Cruise and most of the movies he's
in.
I haven't seen them all, but some are even favourites of
mine, like "Jerry Maguire" and "Magnolia". yeah I like him,
and his acting.

Tom Cruise must be the world's dumbest guy - how many people
join Scientology AND divorce Nicole Kidman in the same
lifetime? - but he can be good in a movie if he's handled
well - like in Eyes Wide Shut where Kubrick played him like
a violin.

no spoilers at all! no worries

i try not to, i prefer people SEE the movie.....and this
acting job equals his job in magnolia (what a great film)
and jerry maguire. i dunno what about him i don't like, but
i won't deny his acting abilities....or his nice job in this
movie! i was happily surprised.

I think most viewers and critics who saw Eyes Wide Shut went
in hungry for a trashfest and were disappointed to be
presented with a masterpiece.

They won't for this film that's for sure. I really can't
stand any of his films apart from the first mission
impossible. Even then I winced every now and then. When he
smiled mainly.

Jumping on the bandwagon for sword action films!

well to be honest i've heard nothing but good things about
this movie. When I first heard about it i wasn't looking
forward to it at all. I'm not sure why a lot of poeple don't
like tom cruise, he can be an excelent actor in the right
role (see magnolia).

i HAVE seen magnolia....own it on DVD...he's a good actor.
but he's also a superstar of sorts and it's hard to get past
that in movies. you see tom cruise, not whoever he's
supposed to be.

you will really ENJOY this film, i'm glad you're giving it a
chance!

man i wanna be Genghis Kahn in the worst way.....first time
i ever thought, it's be a BLAST to be a man and fight like
that.....hahhaha....dunno but it was lyrical watching those
sword fights....i WANT ONE!!! =0)

damn you hit the nail on the head d00d. that's what i felt
when i watched it. i think kubrick is laughing at all the
haters right now for not getting it. (off topic: i'd like to
have seen his version of A.I. before he passed.)

perhaps i just had all the luck and seen all his best
movies, starting with top gun :)

for real...i liked him a lot in magnolia

titsworth, yeah i like those two a lot, especially norton

but there are also numerous actors that i prefer to those i
listed above :)

watanabe and the ninja battle made this movie entertaining
for me. the ending was a huge disappointment, a cop out if
you will. and the idea of cruise "reminding" the japanese of
their traditions was condescending. i would have rather seen
the watanabe characters story told without cruise present in
the movie, but that would require an asian actor in a lead
role, and no one in hollywood has the balls to do that.

i'm glad i don't have as cynical an eye as you......

i enjoyed the movie....whoever was on the screen, even the
lil portly english gent taking pictures. each one added to
the film.....i usually don't mince a good and entertaining
movie up into the bits that i may not agree with.....

cynical? not to start shit, but i think hoping for the best
movie i can get isn't cynical, especially when i'm paying
nine bucks for it. i enjoyed this on an entertainment level,
but it didn't deliver on its convictions.

true. i hate to sound like some critical moaner or
something, because i can understand going for the
entertainment value, which i think this movie had.

i can't wait to see this movie. i've yet to hear a negative
review by someone who saw it.

and for the record, i've always liked tom cruise. he has
charisma. and i think he's really starting to come into his
own as a dramatic actor.

my sensei for my Japanese class wants to see it, but she
doesn't watch R-rated movies.

i'd prolly see it sometime when i don't have work.

The Boyfriend of an associate was the production
designer....

plus I can handle Tom Cruise...more so due to Eyes Wide
Shut...
