no two ae albums are alike imo, but ones from the same era
have slight similarities

I've listened to incunabula and draft 7.30, didnt like
neither. LP5 is definetly the best release i've heard from
them, so I'd like to hear more.. =)

cichlisuite, ep7, chiastic slide, peel session 2,
are closer to LP5 in sound.
maybe envane too.

yeh, LP5 is pretty good and perhaps some of their bestwork
imo, like k_maty said try cichlisuite. remember to give all
the albums a bit of time tho, draft 7.30 keeps growing on me

Tri repetae is worth a look as well. I pretty much like all
ae's releases other than EP 7 but with ae the whole point
is that no album is like any of their others- Incunabula is
pretty standard, but very good, electronica but ae keep
moving things forward and certainly from chiastic slide
onwards they were making some serious groundbreaking shit.

LP5 is one of a kind in the AE catalogue. Chiastic Slide,
EP7 and the rest are all awesome but quite different.

If you haven't, maybe try some Funkstorung, lots of similar
''sounds'' in some of his track, or Bola... those clean,
crisp and sharp sounds, not the crunch of C-Slide.

Chiastic Slide is their best IMHO. It's much different than
LP5 but my gosh is it good. Give it a few listens and try
and tell me you don't like it.

As soon as the weather turns cold here in Montreal....I
bring out the Chiastic Slide. It's the most perfect album
to sit inside with and watch the snow fall.

I like chiastic slide better with heavy rain during winter.
probably because it never snows here.

lp5 is very unique in its sounds compared to any other
autechre

peel session 2 is probably the most similar sounding to lp5.

peel session 2 or ep7 or maybe even cichlisuite would be my
best bet.

although they really aren't that much like lp5

yeah. if you want to listen to something like LP5, i suggest
you simply listen to LP5 again.

do you think a band like autechre sets out to make a
consistent, unique sound on each album or do you think it is
just the sound, techniques etc. they happen to be into at
the time bringing it together? Maybe a little of both?
