The post about USURA by tolstoyed remembered me about first
techno music who I listened in the first 90's here in
Italy.

Help me to remember some name about that techno period.

I say:

T99 - Anastasia (great track!)
Ramirez - El Ritmo Barbaro (best Ramirez track)
Human Resources - Dominator
"Who is Elvis?" by ?
"James Brown is death" by ?
...
...
...

\/\/.

Can't forget Altern8!
also..
Two Bad Mice - Bomb Scare
Sy Kick - Nasty
Rabbit City Records (all excellent!)
Shades of Rhythm

FSOL used to make half the tunes from that era: Mental Cube,
Smart Systems, Stakker, Yage, Hummanoid, etc...

I've got a TON of old-skool hardcore records in my studio.

If you like Stakker, I recommend you pick up the Jumpin' &
Pumpin' reissue- krafty kuts mix and Plump Djs' retouch are
suprisingly good.

I really love the techno and trance from that era too!
Especially the stuff Sven Vath was playing around 92-95...

Back when Trance was cool... I don't know why that bullshit
euphoric house stuff has taken the Trance name these days!?!
Trance used to be the coolest, most hypnotic techno.

I know LA Style did "James Brown Is Dead". But who came up
with the track "James Brown Is Still Alive"? It's a rather
similair track as a respond to the original song, probably
from some guys who wanted to make a quick buck or something.
But what were they called?

fascinating world of electronic music, was "What time is
love (Original Acid Edit) by KLF"
This track is a masterpiece, definitely of of the best piece
of music who i never heard.

i'm listening 3AM ETERNAL, but i don't like it. i don't know
if it's the same version you have, but it's full of voices
and it's very commercial. no acid sounds here.
it remembers the track by Technotronic... "pump up the
jam"...

offline ecnadniarb on 2003-12-05 03:59 [#00978040]
Points: 24805 Status: Lurker | Show recordbag

haha Technotronic I remember that...cheesy as hell...

I also loved Window in the Sky by Acen, and the Prodigy
remix of Emination & The Magi - Everybody Say Love. I was
more into breakbeat stuff, and I have to confess liking
tracks like Sweet Harmony by Liquid (Original Version) and
tons of other shit I forget the names of.

yeah, there are lots of vocals, but i like that a lot :) and
it has that same touch to it as "what time is love" imo

and what is wrong with technotronic?

pump it up a little more,
get the party going on the dance floor...
pump, pump it up!!!

:)

Whoa! I cannot believe you know that Emanation & The Magi
(Prodigy remix)!
I remember the video on MTV - Back when it was MTV Europe
and it was actually quite good!
But yeah, such an obscure tune... Most DJ's from that era
don't even know it!
Amazing track though - Prodigy's finest moment IMO.

Now that were talking about oldschool...

Does anyone know the name of the artist/title of?

The original Tetris techno jam and also some oldschool
techno song that sounded like you were at the ballett with
kinda classical music playing and then a beat came in over
it?

Or how about the one that said "Ecstacy,it really gets me
going,it gets me so I dont know what im doing"?

If anyone knows please spill your guts.

:-)
