i'm sure if you had a terminal disease you would think
differently Monoid.

I found your statement sad, i can only feel sorry for you.

no opinions here, but I just find it funny that the most
deadly disease in this country is 100% preventable.

that's just funny.

I think Ceri mentioned that in South Africa some people
thinmk that they can cure themselves of AIDS by passing it
on but has anyone mentioned that this caused a rash of child
molesting?

Grown men were "curing" themselves of AIDS by raping babies.

I don't have much of an opinion on the people with AIDS but
I really think the disease is unfortunate

there was a documentary on about prostitutes in Africa last
year sometime. They found that many of the women were immune
to the AIDS virus, despite having sex with 1000's of
infected men they never contracted the virus.

People who try to act as though they have never done
anything irresponsible are idiots.

I agree to a certain extent... I do think that when people
get AIDS by pure irresposibility then yes, it's their own
fault and stupidity... but still, we don't just let them
die... we still try and help them!

also, I find that a little shocking... if someone is
infected, THEY SHOULDN'T EVEN HAVE SEX, even protected
sex... come on, condoms aren't fail safe... they can
break...

People who get the flu should also stay inside, but instead
they go out and infect people. I think we should all start
wearing biosuits so as to eliminate all infectious diseases.

and yes, Africa may be worse off now then during apartied,
but come on, you don't just get ride of something like that
and imediately change to the opposite, prosperous nation...
obviously apartied was a bad thing, and so they got rid of
it... a good thing... but it's a process, to move from that
and pick up the pieces and really become a stable nation...

just look at the former Soviet Union (haha, been researching
them for a report)... they've gone through the process of
switching from a communist regime to capitalism... two polar
opposites... it's taken over ten years for the countries to
get where they are now, and they're still far from
prospering from the new capitalist economies, but they are
growing and improving with time...

when you compare HIV/AIDS to the flue, this discussion
descends into ridiculous

so some people say reckon its your own fault, well maybe but
you can get aids from other ways than unprotected sex.
So yr saying that if a doctor gives you aids from a blood
transfusion its yrown fault?

I dunno... the flue kills.

Say if we did just let the irresponsible HIV victims die....
how can we prove whether a victim is guilty? innocent people
go down for crimes they didn't commit all the time so it's
surely better to try to help all HIV victims, not just the
innocent ones?

if you read Monoids first post it seems that he excludes
those instances where it's not the persons own fault...

a friend of mine became hiv after a guy he trusted lied to
him about getting regulary tested - it's a harsh life being
hiv positive - treated liek shit by people constantly
feeling ill always on pills, not knowing when your're gonna
get worse.
he works in a place looking after and giving advice and help
to people with hiv .
monoid your reaction is pretty hateful - you're constantly
spouting this kind of shit and wiyning the whole time , you
should fucking grow up

what the fuck is it with the hollier than thou attutitude of
people on this site about aids - people deserve to die
because of irresponsibility ?

do people who eat stea deserve to diew of heart attacks?
that's pretty sick and nasty

People who have heart attacks from eating too much have paid
for their treatment many times over in VAT on fatty food
(that's a fact, the actual figure is something like 4 times
the cost on average). I think Monoid's point was that tax
would be better spent on treating something else, for
example an illness where those with it have not done
anything at all to get it. For example someone who has
Multiple Sclerosis.
Surely you can see the point that if there is a limited
amount of money to be spent on health care it is more moral
to spend it on those who have not caught the disease through
their actions?

i think what people have been saying, is more along the
lines of what I was saying.

You feel real bad for the kids, and blood transfusion fuck
ups, but for everyone else, it's 100% preventable. I'd
rather cry over kids starving in Africa than some guy who
got too much pussy.

it's not like cancer, keep your dick in your pants and
you're a ok.
