Heh!!!

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2001-11-27 23:59 [#00056264]

Heh, my sister bought Puddle of Muds cd, and I have it on
now... you know, music like this isn't half bad when you
don't buy it yourself, and you're not feeling bad for
throwing away 20 bucks or so on a piece of crap... I must
admit I do like the song Blurry... its a nice "warms the
cockles of my heart" type song... anyways, it still sucks,
but... ummmm... anyways, that's all I have to say...

I agree actually...when you stumble upon a CD you don't have
to pay for, or when you aren''t bothered about the money you
spent for it when you got it, it does really open your mind
up because you aren't expecting it to match your
expectations and you haven't lost anything by listening to
it.

The last thread I remember Funkmaster talking about his
sister was a thread about how Funk found a jar of Vasaline
by the computer... ;D

i disagree with that. you appreciate stuff more if you've
payed for it. you'd want to sqeeze as much pleasure from it
as you can.

No, at what stage did I mention greater appreciation for
free music? You misunderstood my point.

Yes...and your point in copying that section of my post is?

What I typed there has absolutely nothing to do with
appreciation of music based on whether you paid for it or
not...the point I was making is that people are often more
willing to listen to something new if they don't have to pay
out for it in the first place.

totally agree with ecnadniarb
about not having paid
he said it opens your mind up

he never said it makes you like the music in it

I did but I decided to put a lyric in. Getting something for
free means you don't care if you like it or not. So you
listen without prior expectations. That's what you said I
think.

I seem to put more work in when I've paid for something.
Downloading music is different, I think, to someone lending
you a CD or finding a CD lying around. I've downloaded like
a hundred albums which I played once and forgot about. But
I'm glad I have the choice because I downloaded newies by
Plaid, Iron Maiden, Muse, Mars Volta, Machine Head and many
more this last month or two and they've all been played like
5 times at most and forgotten about. I don't really know
what I'm saying here...
