any thoughts on this? im sure no one has heard it yet, but
i'm curious if it wont be just slop. alot of supposed
"experimental" stuff (and stuff i've heard from hafler trio)
has been very uninspired. i hope ae can keep it somewhat
music or interesting and incidental.

hafler trios work with jim o'rourke is great. think someone
else was in there, but dont remember the name...

but, hafler trio solo stuff to me, just sounded like loads
of voice samples from news casters and presidents or
whatever else. some other things i dont remember had more
beat structure to them, and were quite cool i thought. its
up in the air for me.

so, we'll see i guess.

im just wondering what others think about this pairing., or
just the idea in general. do you think other people from
different schools within electronic should collaborate. for
instance, would an aphex twin/nurse with wound collaboration
be appeal to you? how about boards of canada and brian eno.
i'm just thinking out loud, is all... and wondering if
people have heard anything more or know anything more about
it.

can't say anything general about this.

it depends on who works with who and until you actually hear
something they have made together, there is not a lot to
say.

it could be good or it could be bad. i dont think theres
anyway to tell unless you try it.

hafler trio was darker to me. so if autechre incorporates
their fantastical sound with the darkness, it should be
great. but if they do just a bunch of amtospheric noise with
radio/tv broadcasts, then maybe not.

i think this is a great pairing... i am definitely hoping
that the combination brings some really gothic sounds the
forefront... collaboration between electronic artists is
entering a very exciting phase right now in my opinion...
artist's ability to improv with current technology is
spawning some of the most intriguing work i've heard...
though i doubt that this (autechre hafler) stuff is improv,
i think that some of the mentality will still be there...

i never heard of the halfler trio before this.

my theory is that, when a release isnt promoted months in
advance and kept secret, it has to be good (no logic at
all).
