One of my mates used to have a car without even a radio, he
used to listen to headphones while driving, until one day
someone smashed into the back of his car because he dropped
the CD player off his knee, hit the brake hard and someone
went up the back of him.

The other driver accepted fault for the crash and my mate
got a new car (second hand) with the insurance compensation
money :D

Yep, he's a taxi driver now and regularly "takes it from
behind" on purpose because in the eyes of the law the driver
at the rear is normally blamed for the smash because they
shouldn't have been driving so close. He does about 2
crashes a year with about a £2000 pay out from each.

I couldn't figure out who you were talking to, and I had the
end of a story to type so no harm done :D

Yep, the other driver claiming you reversed into them (only
works at low speeds obviously) seems to be the only way
around it...

It is pretty fair though- I had to throw on the breaks to
avoid hitting a kid on a bike who just flew out in front of
me and the guy behind me went nuts. He stopped literally an
inch or two from my bumper and was beeping his horn and for
a second I thought he was going to get out of his van. I
wish he had rear ended me, it would of been worth it to see
the look on his face in court when he discovered it was his
fault...

I'll have to try that reversing one...

"Your honour, there was me driving responsibly when all of a
sudden some maniac driving 50mph in reverse turned the
corner and twatted me, thus accounting for the amount of
damage his car sustained. A bottle of vodka I had placed on
the dashboard for save keeping also smashed on contact
spilling the contents down my throat resulting in the
negative breath test taken by the police. I wish to also
sue for the cost of the vodka"

that road rage story reminds me of an incident about 2 weeks
ago.
i was driving towards a roundabout and as i passed through
it, some guy just came right through one of the exits.
this caused me to skid, narrowly missing his car by a
fucking inch, heading for a barrier.
i managed to control the skid and miss the barrier by an
inch also.
absolutely enraged, steaming red...i got out the car and
walked over to his car (which had stopped to watch me skid
almost to my death) shouting "what the fuck are you on,
man!!!!????"

he drove away.....what a pussy. although, to be fair, i was
gonna kick his ass for real.
