Well..... Call it what you want, Meth, Grit, Gak, Crystal, whatever the fuck, those names are used a lot around here.
Anyways this is my "beef" with meth....
I dont know what the situation is like where you live, but I live in (see above: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada....) and the Meth problem here is WAY outta control...
Background on my city: There are about 800'000 people living in my city, its the capital of our province. Its got a pretty heft crime situation as well, which speaks bounds vice and... versa for drugs.
I have personally seen 3 friends get destroyed by meth, I dont know where 1 of them is now, Im sure he moved away to try and sell it or something stupid and is most likely wide awake dead somewhere. The other one went to a pyschward for the whole summer to combat the effects it had on his brain for all those years.
These are not people that have just done it once or twice here and there, they started like that ALL of them did (and besides these 3 people, I know atleast 20 more... or more that do it, and while most likely end up like these other 3), these guys did it all the fucking time and it would show, losing weight, getting speed bumps on their face/lips/hands... blah blah blah, being awake for a week or more straight, not eating, going kinda crazy here and there... eventually it all adds up. Ive seen it happen, yes I tried speed but i didnt do it after a couple times because luckily (if you could call it luck) I saw how other people who had been doing it for years looked and acted and I didnt want to be like that at all.
Now I have a good friend who did it for many years and he stopped because he was pretty much dying from so much crystallization in his lungs and other shit from the drug toxication his body. He sees people do it, or people talk about it too much be gets all weird and just fucks off. Hes 24 now. And its just really fucked up to see people behave like this.
What I wanted to know is do you know people like this? Is Meth a problem in your city or town or wha

i've sampled a LOT of chemicals. but meth is one thing i've never tried. nobody i know does it on a regular basis so i've never really been exposed to it. i suppose if one of my friends had some, and was sharing, i'd give it a hoot but it isn't something i would seek out. But yo, i'd try anything once.

I went to a rural school, kids didn't really start doing it until around senior year I think, but I heard about the shittier schools in Springfield (next to eugene, considered shitty) where some of the kids were doing coke they stole from their parents in the bathroom during break.
It's just something poor white trash do.

sure, ive done it before, but like, for real, reflex ain't lyin. i've seen people fuck thier shit up really badly from meth.
and seeing thoes people should be reason enough for you not to do it.
i dont know. it's not good.

A bloke tried to sell me some on a streetcorner when I was living in one of the nicest areas of the country. There's a growing number of middle class young professionals who do it in the UK and as they can generally afford it (and don't resort to theft, prostitution, etc to fund it) it doesn't really get noticed unless they fuck up properly on it.

a meth lab in an apartment over a restaurant exploded a couple miles from where i live a couple years ago. there have been numerous discoveries of rural methlabs and even a mobile lab operated in the trunk of a car.
i've never taken meth and don't know anyone who has taken non-pharmaceutical methamphetamine, but it must be going somewhere.

Zephyr Twin: Speed bumps are what a real speed addict gets on their face and other parts of their body. Its the toxins in the meth coming out through your skin, they look just like pimples pretty much.
I dunno most people who truly do this stuff arent proud of it and would never say its cool on a messageboard. And if they do, they know nothing of the drug and havent been doing it long enough to know shit.

happy cycling: hmmm... possibly some of it comes from there, but there are many meth labs here in Edmonton, actually the other week there was a huge story in both major newspapers here about meth labs in Edmonton and the surrounding area, as fas as I know there werent that many before when the drugs popularity started, but obviously since then and the drugs boost in the mainstream more labs have been popping up. what they are afraid of is the toxic results from making this drug. and ofcourse the people who are going to sell it.

meth is NOT speed, they're different I think technically it's the same as ice but we never call it meth so it's like me trying to understand what bowls are as opposed to cones.
I've smoked ice a bunch of times and fucked myself up in the head and no it's NOT nice at all. I've been told that I never actually came all the way back to my original personality afterwards but I dunno if people jyst say that to be dramatic or scare me or what.
I don't do it anymore- it doesn't give me any rush at all, just a cool relaxed feeling which I don't really think is worth the amount of money and damage you do to yourself.
I still do lines of it sometimes but lines of it are more like speed and don't send you anywhere NEAR as loopy as smoking it.
and FAR too many people in this town do it aswell, go to a club and everyone's like "Yeah I was smoking some globes before I came down" etc... bad shit, really.
