New job

... as Hewlett Packard tech support guy. Taking calls from
clueless people end explaining that the CD tray is not a cup
holder, etc. Vroom! I went in and aced the tests the other
day and did OK in my interview (I'm an aloof bastard so it
could have been better... I'd better overcome that fast),
and I just got offered the job (which I took, I think) and
I'm going in for training Monday. I'm no computer guru, but
they'll fix that.

Walking around the office building for orientation was a
strange, sterile experience... couldn't help but think of
Office Space... the clock in the wall, the cubicle walls and
the labyrinth they make, those cliche water-coolers,
everybody dressed in that office-style... it was so weird,
first time ever in an environment like that. Straight outta
some satire, it was full of so many nearly ridiculous
stereotypes. I swear I thought I saw that other Michael
Bolton there.

Should be an OK job though. Easier than my last one, and
this is considered one of the better places to work in this
town.

Anybody have experience in this line of work? What do you
think? POgO does this, eh? Can I surf the net there (I was
too timid to ask)? Maybe I could mod your azzes even at
work.

take it easy with the internet surf in the beginning until
you're familiar with all routines, job mates, technicians
etc...

and congratz to the job! :)

Hehe, I expect some annoying people and even more annoying
situations... oh well, should be some funny stuff. I always
wanted to get on the phone with a complete dumbass that
doesn't know anything about computers, but I'd have a hard
time not giggling. Giggling isn't kosher for tech support.

Phob- thanks man! Yeah, I'll be nice and obedient 'till I'm
familiar with the demands and the job and everything.
Hopefully I'll be working with cool people.
