the intent of that blatent echo was quite.. well.. blatent.
he wants credit or some sort of "hey, that's great man. good
for you, seriously! that's real strong of you." praise..
don't give it to him. he's full of the same kind of shit
those "oh, I've never heard of it. I don't watch TV" people
are full of

before you retort: yes you did. otherwise you wouldn't have
bothered to post that information in the first place

are you saying that everyone watches TV? because that is
truly one of the dumbest things I have heard someone say on
this board, if that's what you meant. Last time I turned on
the TV (to watch cable, movies and video games dont count)
it was 2 weeks ago, because I was having a bad trip and
thought I would find something to entertain me or cheer me
up there (boy was I wrong). But before then, it had been
MONTHS since I'd watched anything on TV. TV is a fucking
joke, the news is biased, the music is terrible, the
entertainment is NOT. I get my news, music, and
entertainment all from different sources.

that's not what I was saying. you missed the reference
completely. you just want to be the crusaiding first person
to come out against the asshole who attacked the willing
virgin. you missed my point. move along.

well then maybe I should have dumbed it down for those who
need a song & dance and someone to hold their hand across
every road they come across.

I'm characterizing blatant echo as one of those people that
wants special attention for doing something that the
'bewildered herd' engages in on a constant basis. there are
people who want credit for not watching tv. they can't just
not watch tv. they have to not watch tv then tell the whole
tv-watching world about it and build an entire façade
around this minor, measured "accomplishment" slash test of
the temptation that beckons all of human kind. and that's
just TV! what about SEX!? the most innate and automatic and
necessary activity a human being can engage in. everyone is
driven into a frothy-mouthed frenzy to bang the everliving
fuck out of everything that walks, but this kid is going to
strike a christ pose and stand to the side; even refusing
advances in an inevitable pre-coital moment of intimacy. he
deserves our respect for his undaunted restraint. hooray for
you. yes congratulations to you, everyone who's never seen
punk'd, and all those who refuse to eat all things animal.
good for you and the façade for/through which you attempt
to entice the acceptance of the peers that would otherwise
never pay you any attention.

next time just come out and say it. don't be a pussy. be
direct.

this thread reminds me of tha tepisode of southpark:

Jimmy:

"my girlfriend and i took e-e-extasy one night and stayed up
all night having sex"

Kyle:

"where did you have sex!?"

Jimmy:
"In, in, in, her v-v-v-va-vagina."

haha! :P

yeah, i'm way the fuck beyond the first few romps i've had
in the sack. My first is this jewish bitch from seattle
(decent fuck, but SUCH A GODDAMN BITCH!).

first of all, yes I did miss the reference, but i am
operating on 4 hours of sleep and my reading comprehension
isn't at it's highest right now. Secondly, your example was
pitiful. HOW is someone asking for praise by saying "oh I
haven't heard of it, I never watch tv." I mean sure, some
people probably imply that, but if someone hasn't heard of
the show you are speaking of, generally they arent going to
LIE about it just to fit in to the TV-viewing society.
Lighten up man. I don't watch TV in an attempt to gain
praise. I choose not to watch it becuase its a fucking
terrible waste of time and fails at it's one job
(entertainment). Sex is a totally different thing, and I
agree with you about Blatant.. at least in the sense that he
is stupid for turning it down. Still though, I wasn't
crusading about anything, just making an example. Don't get
angry because you over-generalize. Oh, by the way, your view
of the world is pretty fucked up if you think the only
reason people do things is for acceptance or attention. Get
over yourself, and stop pretending like you're got the world
figured out.

maybe I should have used a better example. but the point
made is still valid.

and about 80-85% of the majority's actions are dictated by
what people think of them and improving the perception
people might have of them. everyone spends most of their
time (in america, at least) either attempting to gain the
attention they received or did not receive from their
parents (the most impactful years are, unfortunately, the
most dependent ones) or reacting in some way to that surplus
or void of attention. everyone is guilty of it in one way or
another.. believe me. the world isn't that difficult to
figure out. people are motivated by a very small pool of
drives. they're either innate or they stem from the years of
development.

everyone, from paris hilton to richard james, to blatent
echo, to myself, to anyone on a reality tv show, to an
actor, to all politicians, to anyone who has anything
published, to anyone that has ever been dependent on a
significant other, to anyone who has spent their entire
lives chasing marraige and CHILDREN!, to anyone with a
tatto, or a piercing, to those who attempt to say FUCK YOU!
by their appearence.. everyone is guilty of it in one way or
another.. it is absolutely undeniable.
