I went to bed for an hour this afternoon and have just woken up. I had an absolutely crazy dream. I was at a big formal party that I was throwing in a hotel for some reason (it wasn't my birthday), security started on someone for taking a fork outside the eating area and it all went odd from there on. It ended up with all my friends fighting with security, who ended up turning into anime style mechwarrior type things and finally I was fighting them in an X-Wing that had a dodgy joystick which made it hard to turn to the left. I managed to blow up one of the mechs before getting bored and flying off. There was something to do with fireworks too and loads of people being near a disused nightclub in my hometown.
Any interpretations other than my dreams are very strange (they're not normally half this interesting).

I had an odd dream last night. I was in some mystery place and bumped into some people, one of which turned out to be earthleakage, and the place turned out to be like westworld, only instead of western world and medeival world there was nottingham-trent university lecture theatre world and indian wigwam world. I can't remember when went on, except that there was a lecture and then everyobne went away.
um, it seemed weirder when I was dreaming it

For further insight, my optician advised me to wear my glasses for driving an hour or so previously and I feel bitter about having to pay for my new ones as I could have got my employer to do it back in July.
The party was actually quite good before my ex girlfriend ruined it by taking the fork outside. For some reason, tears were streaming down my face (although I wasn't sad) when everyone arrived at the party.

Last dream I had (that I can actually remember):
I dreamt I was having a wheelchair race in our local supermarket with one of my ex-classmates from primary school. Sokana (from WipEout 64) also seemed to be in my subconscious mind constantly. I won btw :D
Then I woke up, fell asleep again and dreamt I went to New York on my own and slept in a hotel that was in the former WTC. It had a cute asian maid dropping by every afternoon for a good conversation and the breakfast cost exactly $97.08. No kidding. It's really strange how one remembers such seemingly unimportant details

Wheelchair = The Chocolate Wheelchair Album.
which ties into,
Wipeout = How you got into electronic music
dream analysis = you were reflecting on how far you have come in your musical tastes (to snares) since the comparatively dance music styled stuff of wipeout. It also means within the year you will like merzbow and believe it is the only true "music". ;)

You wanted to escape from your home life and take a holiday so you went to America. However, you realised it would be foolish to take a holiday at this time as a) it is too expensive and b) it would be better in the long run to stay at home for the time being (WTC- suggests "it would be suicide to go").
Man this is a cinch, if I ever become cynical enough I could set up a psychic dream interpretation hotline :)
Exxalion, interpret mine now!

OK, the big formal party could symbolize success that lies ahead in your life, something work-related. Perhaps you are thinking a lot about what you want to do as a profession now that you're back to uni again. Subconsciously you could feel that your friends somehow get in the way of your success (that I do not know for sure of course). Something small may then result into a catastrophe: material success (security) vs. your friends. The anime thing refers to the paper on cel-shading/anime you made last week. And the combination of the X-Wing and the joystick are a reference to things that play an important role in your life: Playing videogames and Jedi Chris. And AT Jedi Chris of course. The joystick might be dodgy in your dream because you feel it's hard to control the things I just mentioned (success and friends).

yes that's all good and well but the realisation that they mean nothing can only be arrived at by analyzing them in the first place

I tend to agree that dreams are largely just your brain sorting out what you went through in the day. Any meaning is further eroded in dreams where you have a degree of control over your actions (as I did in this one) as it's less a prophetic vision and more just a fantasy playground.

I love dreams like this! I loved how it was difficult to turn left because of the joystick! I seriously laughed out loud because of that. This is one of those dreams i wish you could have recorded so we could all watch it!

there are several theories why
one is that the brain needs stiimulation every now and again, one of the natural biorhythms of the body is the 90 minute, hence we dream every 90 minutes or so (simplified)
or it could be the brain "plying videos" to keep us entertained during our resting period
or it could be the brain sorting and sifting through the information obtained fromn the previous day and trying to make sense of it & re-ordereing it

Yeah, so you could say that dreams are like visualisations of subconscious things left in your brain being processed. So by analysing your dreams you can more or less get an image of the things that are important to you, either consciously or subconsciously.

There was this thing on Swedish TV about a very weird case of outer body experience. It was a woman, Pam something, in the US.
She had an aneyrysm in the middle of her brain and things looked hopeless, so this clinic in Arizona decided to try and operate on her. They stopped her heart, drained her head of blood and her body was cooled down to 15deg celsius. She had these clicking things in her ears that monitor brain activity, so she couldn't possibly hear anything. She was clinically dead for an hour or so. Yet, after the operation she could describe the surgeons tools, like the bonesaw. The tools aren't even out in the open until the last minute because of infection risks, yet she knew the saw looked like an electric toothbrush. She could remembered what the surgeons talked about during the operation.
She said that the moment the saw cut into her head, she was kicked out of her body. She was floating around the room watching the operation.
Now, this isn't anything unusual with people who suffer heart attacks and so on, but this is the first known case with someone who is basically dead. You can't use your memory when there's no blood in your head, not to mention no activity.
They interviewed the surgeon and he couldn't explain it. There was so much she possibly couldn't have known, in that state. The common theory is that your mind or soul or whatever is a separate thing from your body.
