Mouse on Mars

Frag on 2001-11-23 19:32 [#00055049]

Some fucked up stuff. Good though.
Does anyone know if they have/he has partnered with anyone
we might know of? It would be interesting to see him/them
work with RDJ or Reznor.

Monoid on 2001-11-28 01:27 [#00056276]

they dislike RDJ cuz he ignored them at an awards
show.....thats what say said in an interview...

Xanatos from NYC on 2001-11-28 01:38 [#00056279]

lol that's pretty interesting

I think NIN would take this wonderfull little thing known as
MoM and turn anything of theirs he worked with into a load
of absolutely steaming shit.

All his new music sux spunk and spews bile, and there is
nothing good to say about it.

poe from the uk (school) on 2001-11-28 10:30 [#00056392]

the review I read of them in The Times was "the next
Kraftwerk" after buying the cd, I have never listend to it
again, probably the opposite of kraftwerk.

Ive only got Iaora Tahiti - and its ok - but it sort of
failed to really captivate me ..

Any recommendations as to what their best stuff/recommended
stuff is ?? And how Iaora compares n stuff?

I've said this before about this "group": they ripped off
Richard's style that he used for one album and made it their
permanent sound. They ripped off not only the musical style
of Melodies from Mars but were blatant enough to actually
use the albums title in their "group"s name!!! I guess they
figured since it is an unreleased album they would be less
apt to get caught at their blatant plagiarism. This, I
would suspect, is the reason Richard dissed them. They are
worse than electronic posers, they are outright thieves!
Tirade over.

Yeah .. I heard all that too -

Dirty Priest from Denmark on 2001-11-28 13:07 [#00056422]

Still, personally i think the melodies from mars sound
should be exploited to death. i´m really happy about that
album you know.... =)

I really like the video where rubber men are slideing up and
down in a elevator shaft.
cant remember the name of that tune, tough.

Maytag:Have you looked up when Mouse on Mars started?
Compare that to when MfM became available..

Monoid on 2001-11-28 23:15 [#00056550]

Thats the Distroia VIDEO ! And by the way, Mous on Mars was
a german Kids TV show, also they started in 1994, so how
could they rip off Melodies from Mars........duh

Frag on 2001-11-29 02:19 [#00056603]

Taxi...on your 'new music sucks spunk' comment...are you
referring to Mouse on Mars or NIN?

And ah...You don't think RDJ's contribution to NIN was good?
I doubt Reznor had NO involvement whatsoever.

Aaladorn from mp3.com/aaladorn on 2001-11-29 05:03 [#00056640]

Mouse On Mars is good stuff. Maytag is a fucktard. And I
am tired.

Maytag from Durham,NH USA on 2001-11-29 06:29 [#00056648]

Just showing your age kid. Maybe you're cranky tired
because you didn't have a nap today, hmmmm?

crayon_kid from the inner reaches of your soul... on 2001-11-29 06:38 [#00056650]

the reason the times has been called the next kraftwerk is
because they record thier songs live.

Taxi on 2001-11-29 09:54 [#00056694]

Seeing as Mouse on Mars have been around since before
melodies on mars, and they are IDM made with a 6 piece band
or something like that... I don't think they started
blatantly ripping off Richard D James.

And I think that any of the new stuff by NIN is any good.

Taxi on 2001-11-29 09:55 [#00056696]

And yeah... I think trent reznor just kind of sits around
and takes credit for a lot of the stuff he doesn't do.
