no, that's not true.
Richard E. Grant is a T-totaller, he's even allergic to alcohol, so he had never been drunk. Robinson insisted he got completely pissed once before filming so he would create "chemical memory".
so they did that. and Grant puked all over the carpet.
he never was drunk in any of the scenes at all - which just shows how good an actor he is. :)
