they should be included in the IDM database.... great IDM
rap.... classic beats, fresh flows... pirate material is a
GREAT release.... pls discuss :)

Not really "IDM" in any way shape or form...I don't mind the
album, but I found it got boring really quickly. Some
decent moments, mostly bland and lazy.

the streets isnt really idm now is it. in your heart of
hearts can you really say that? no.
did you know that the "has it come to this" and the "oh oh",
come straight from the akai s6000 sample cd that comes with
s5000/s6000 samplers. no real idm artist would sample
something like that, they would tweak it from nord lead
synth, via ring modulator and into a dozen chained digital
delay lines, etc etc.

.....although 'Thankyou for you attention, goodbye', was
from an opcode installation program! ahem mr james!

i couldn't get into it at all, in fact, after listening to
the whole album once, i couln't stand it.

I love the album! great beats, nice flow, nice melodies...
the 1st track, 'turn the page', is so beautiful...

i was really into it for a couple months. then i got kinda
tired of it.
now, on the rare occasion when i listen to it, i skip about
25% of the tracks.

i think the good tracks are really good. the bad tracks are
well pretty bad.

the new Outkast album would be more IDM than The Streets but
i don't think either of them should be included in the data
base.

the streets is pure bullshit.

that fucking "rapper" should be shot. try listening to his
mundane and bland rhymes. he does things like rhyme "gate"
with "late" and "hate" and "mate".

Idiot. It's everything rap shouldn't be.

Biggie's turning over in his grave...

well i witnessed it on the telly, and raw it was, nice it
was not. im afraid to say that rapping gave way to shouting
and it wasnt great by any stretch of the imagination. but on
a positive note they are 10million times better than
SClubpaedoKids8 what ever it is called now.

The Streets are great.I would class them as Urban rather
than IDM.
There are some brilliant tracks on Original Pirate
Material, the beat to Sharp Darts is brilliant no arguments.

naw,
his emceeing and cadence is wicked in that song "too much
brandy" or whatever it's called.

"calvin, shmalvin i'm well within my limits
oh hang on a minute
these mushrooms just kicked in
think i might be finished.
ball game heads for the worse
for what it's worth
i might just fall off the edge of the earth
brain's kinda surfin' now
wander down darkened pathways
in a daze oi!
you want to buy any cocaine boy?
am i paranoid?
yes you're paranoid!"

I think his style is intentionally a little slack jawed
which makes it sound original.
