thanks. i guess i'll download it from you in a couple months... i agree the "keep it to yourself" thing kills good music. there's keeping private things private--ie if an artist gave YOU something and told you not to share it, DON'T--and then there's just elitist bullshit over who is cool enough to hear it and who isn't it, after it's already leaked. i don't think anyone's going to take this as "autechre's new album" either. |

hanal didn't say anything about keeping it to myself, otherwise I would have done so, david mc cormick is a great guy and I wouldn't do any wrong by him, I have given it to only recycle (in return for a huge favour) and maptazee, I personally don't see much harm in this getting released, just as I don't see anay harm in ab5 or mfmf getting released, it's just simply more autechre,.. and I'm sure that to a lot of the more hardcore ae fans out there, this is going to mean a lot, which is why I gave it to these two individuals, because I knew they'd appreciate it, I made little thought to where it would wander after that, I also think that it is some great material worth hearing, and 'if' I have in fact, offended dave, rob, or anyone else, then I offer my most sincere apologies. |

thanks for the background. i didn't know so few people had it, i thought it was just something recent that popped up on soulseek or FTP's. hopefully hanal is OK with this since he was trading or giving it to people and it's just something for fun. i'd also like to emphasize that this is rob hall (gescom member and skam dj), not rob brown from autechre.. i think a lot of people are seeing the name rob and jumping to the wrong conclusion (i did it, too). i'm going to listen to it tomorrow.. i'm a hip-hop fan anyway so hip-hop from a skam founder/owner sounds quite appetizing. |

refund: if hanal didnt ask you to keep it to yourself then its everything right. but he asked me not to put it in the net. so I guess that giving it to close friends wouldnt be a problem, but of course if they didnt put it on the net either (which they have done in your case: mappatazee and horsefactory) |

There's a 3 track mix, a 5 track mix, and a 6 track mix. Total time is pretty long. A couple tracks are over 20 mins. I searched on soulseek again and found a couple people that had it... I guess there's no way to stop it now. |

This makes more sense now. No mention of it being kept "secret" were made so it's cool that it's out. I'll probably try and get it now. My statements were on the basis that this was a personal thing someone had done for a friend and wasn't meant for the public. If it's cool with the people involved that it's out then more power to the net! |

rob gave it to hanal as a present hanal shared it with some friends but he asked them not to put it on the net, though I guess he didnt mind us sharing it with close friends as long as it didnt end up in the net (anyway I didnt even share it with my friends cos I thought he wouldnt like that either) so I dont think hanal can be happy about it being on soulseek now it is not a release. is just some mix cds rob brown did for his friend hanal. as if I did a mix cd for woofer (with the big diference that I am not a famous muscian... but still) it is not even autechres music... is old classic hip hop that rob liked |
