What the fuck is this film then? What a load of bollocks!

They showed it at the Warp Halloween Party and it licked
balls. Why show this film? God it was
soooooooooooooooooooooooo shit. There were so many other
films they could've shown.

But anyway, I digress. How did George Lucas get hte money
for Star Wars when this was the first filkm he made? How on
earth did he convince them he could make a good film? I
think thwe Star Wars trilogy was a fluke by the way. The new
ones show he ereally is a shit film maker. Lucky cunt.

Completely and utterly destroy you.

Quoting it to me won't make it any better.

Maybe we're just not intelligent enough
to "get" it O_o

It was pretty pants, although there were some funny bits
(Even though I don't think they were meant to be funny)

You will be terminated.

When the car got powered up for ages, traveled about 5 ft
and exploded into that indstrial can. That was great. So
many people were laughing at that.

I'm sure i would have enjoyed it more if i wasn't still
buzzing about meeting Aphex Twin and being tickled and
pinched by him

Well I couldn't really hear what was going on to be honest
because the sound was so distorted. Are all the voices meant
to be fucked up?

pOgO: I was laughing in desperation.

I shall watch it again then. I think part of the reason is
that everyone sounded like robots and I could barely
understand what they were saying. Plus we missed the
beginining. But the whole thing seemed exposition and the
events just seemed to happen for no reason and didn't flow.
I will try it again though as I always trust your films
thoughts.

it might also not have been the best of circumstances for a
film like this.

I really like the film, one of my favourites.

and the soundtrack by Lalo Schiffrin is one of the most
spectacular semi-electronic pieces I have ever heard (and,
ofcourse, not available on cd).

The most inappropriate film they could've shown. Even Gigli
would have got a better reception.

To fully understand "THX 1138", you have to have seen George
Lucas' original version, the short film "THX 1138:4EB".

OK well you've convinced me that I should watch this film
again in better conditions. I don't hold much hope but I'm
open. Is there really a short film? I'll check that too.

I bought it 2 weeks ago on VHS for 5 bucks. I was the only
one at that Rogers outlet to rent it since they opened too.

I thought it was awesome to look at but everything else was
sort of ... well you know : )

"THX1138 why arn't you at your station?"

Isn't this some sort of (aesthetic) precedent to the Matrix,
or at least Blade Runner?

When did he release it?

Is it a decent film (honestly)?

No i thought it was drivel, supposed to artistic or
something but it's just wank.

It's supposed to be about an oppressive regime or something
like that and escape from the confines of modern life.

Good message, good idea executed very poorly.

Skink, if you saw that movie 30 years ago youd have shit
your pants.
Of course it sucks now...

If David Bowie would have played that 70s alien from man
that fell to earth it would have rocked : )
But then again thats like saying "If they had put Wolverine
in that moive it would have rocked!"
