i want to find something i can use to stream music live, and / or mix files accordingly - i'd like to start practicing a live mix because i've wanted to do so, and i'd like to fool around with something.
anyone with any ideas / recommendations?

There's always Shoutcast... it's free and from what I know of listening to shoutcast streams it works great.

if you wanna mix mp3s (and i'm pretty sure it allows live streaming) check mixmeister. i've used it before, its easy to use and works really well. allows you to burn your own mix split into tracks onto a cd etc.

is there any way to stream the output of traktor (or any other mp3 mixing software) to winamp's output? it would be cool to mix tracks live through shoutcast.
