it's a terrific poll. if i were still putting my all into PHUX like i was in the late '90s i'd start this competition: listening to the music itself and ignoring the existing art, design your own cover art for a rephlex release. chances are it'll be miles better than the actual cover. i know i can and have done better stuff than most of rephlex's cover art.
that said, i think rephlex go for a very minimalist and cheeky aesthetic so what they do makes sense even if it is kinda frustrating to not be getting some cool album artwork/design out of your cd purchase. some of it (MEN, AB3, some rephlex singles) doesn't really have any artwork at all, which IMO is inexcusable.

I actually like those releases that have no artwork more than most of the ones that do.
to me it seems more honest.

i can understand that but i always want to have some kind of artwork, even if it's bad.. not that i want it to influence how i think about the music itself, but just cos i like looking at it as its own separate entitity or as a statement or glimpse into the lives of the from the people behind the music.. plus i like feeling like i got my money's worth :)

no big deal... wait till next poll to see if you like it... or even better, give some nice ideas for next polls
the crew always take our ideas for polls into consideration
