quotes from favorite artists:

here's one of mine, tho he's not yet one of my favorites:
"There are basically only two subject matters in all Western
culture: sex and death. We do have some ability to
manipulate sex nowadays. We have no ability, and never will
have, to manipulate death." - Peter Greenaway

post a few of yours if you'd like.

what would be considered manipulating death? murder,
suicide, etc seem fairly manipulative. or is that
manipulating life?

i don't think i know any quotes from my favorite artists.

We do manipulate death- we bring it about earlier, postpone
it, change its form...

I can't think of any by artists I like.

"This is disgusting! It's pornography!" exclaimed a pasty
slug like woman in a fur coat, vanilla ice cream smeared
across her double chin like a money shot. The balding
professor type in his mid forties, his left hand stuff
brassly down the front of his pants. "No, no, no. This is

Lack of involvement with the father, or over-involvement
with the mother, can result in lack of ability to relate to
sexual fears, and in homosexual leanings, narcissism,
transexuality (girls from the waist up/men from the waist
down), attempts to be your own love object. Reconcile your
parents to you by becoming both at once!

nice topic.

"The main thing is to try and keep myself happy, cos' as
long as i believe in it then it has a reasonable chance of
other people liking it. I don't think you should make just
what other people expect of you, cos' then it's not going to
have your full commitment. If you do whatever you feel like,
then the chances are that other people will like it too." -

Peter Greenaway is pretty damn cool...

as for quotes:

"Mom i've had a razor under my tongue, ever since i was
child with a tight belt/ i haven't been able to kiss a girl
with an open mouth my friend, cause i'm afraid that i'd
split her lip... is that sick"
-Why

"Just remember to roll"-Why

... really those are just two random things that came to
mind though... maybe i'll bump this when something really
interesting comes to mind

Not sure, I saw it in theatres on Monday. But it was the "we
get movies real late" theatre. So hopefully pretty soon.
