Thats on the DVD:

The Work of Director Chris Cunningham

London-based Chris Cunningham has created some of the most
provocative and visually disturbing subject matter in the
history of the music video or film. His unnerving,
award-winning works have included Aphex Twin's "Come To
Daddy" (an elderly woman is chased through an English
council housing complex by pint-sized Richard James
mutants); Björk's "All is Full of Love" (Two robots fall in
love as one creates the other piece by piece); and
Portishead's "Only You" (Beth Gibbons and a young lad buoy
eerily in a shaded alleyway, her movements as bewitching as
her singing).

The Work of Director Chris Cunningham will also include new
unseen versions of his art films "Flex" and "Monkey
Drummer."

Music Videos

Second Bad Vilbel - AUTECHRE
Come To Daddy - APHEX TWIN
Only You - PORTISHEAD

I like the NY Times interview:

CHRIS CUNNINGHAM I spent about three or four months
harassing this English techno band, Autechre, to let me do a
video for them. It's humiliating: the first chance you ever
get to make something, and it's for a proper video.

JONZE How did it turn out?

CUNNINGHAM Terrible.

SANNEH Did the band like it?

CUNNINGHAM No, they hated it.

GONDRY It's good to start with a failure!

CUNNINGHAM It was pretty heartbreaking for me. I still
haven't got over it.

hey guys...here comes the rest.....

1. The Work of Director Spike Jonze

Spike Jonze's feature films (Adaptation & Being John
Malkovich) have demonstrated a unique sense of comedy and
originality that can also be seen in his music videos: the
Grammy Award Winning Fatboy Slim clip "Weapon of Choice"
(Christopher Walken dancing through a hotel with wild
abandon); Bjork's "It's Oh So Quiet" (a Busby
Berkeley-inspired song and dance); Beastie Boys' "Sabotage"
(the band portraying multiple characters in a fictional '70s
cop show);and Weezer's "Buddy Holly" (Weezer performing at
Al's Drive-In on the set of Happy Days).

The Work of Director Spike Jonze also includes three
30-minute-plus documentaries: Torrance Rises, the story of
Richard Koufay and the Torrance Dance Community's
preparation and eventual performance at the 1999 MTV Music
Video Awards with Fatboy Slim; Amarillo By Morning,

2. The Work of Director Michel Gondry

French-born Michel Gondry is known for his visually
groundbreaking imagery and re-interpretations of reality. A
former drummer, his first collaboration with Björk for
"Human Behaviour" (featuring Bjork as a hunter who
eventually winds up inside a bear's stomach), helped revive
what was then a dwindling music video industry, and went on
to win nearly every music video award.

The project sparked a creative relationship between Gondry
and Bjork, which led to five more videos. Gondry has also
directed the Rolling Stones' "Like A Rolling Stone," Beck's
"Deadweight" (set in a world in which everything is
reversed); and Radiohead's "Knives Out" (featuring a
life-size version of the Operation board game where Thom
Yorke and his "girlfriend" play out the demise of their
relationship), as well as videos for the Chemical Brothers,
the White Stripes, Daft Punk, and the Foo Fighters amongst
others.

Music Videos

I bought the Michel Gondry & Chris Cuningham DVDs, don't
really care for Spike Jonze.

The Michel Gondry DVD is AWESOME... chock full of so much
stuff that they had to divide it into two DVDs. Really good,
bad, and funny.

The Chris Cunningham DVD is OK, nice to see the commercials,
and his videos are amazing, but they only put an excerpt of
Flex. WHAT THE FUCK. It is such a tease, and rip off. Also
unlike the Gondry DVD Chris only put his "Better" work which
most people have seen. He didn't put any of his older/ rarer
stuff. Yet in the trailer they show all that stuff...

Alright, I have the dvd. There are both windowlicker
videos. And I would like to know what the rubber johnny
thing is all about. It has a the clip of the alien thing
saying afx and then it says "Coming Soon...Rubber Johnny"
Monkey Drummer is no the full track, but it is the full
video, about 2:30. Shame about flex. I'm happy with Come
to Daddy and Windowlicker though. Now they just need to get
On, Donkey Rhubarb, and Ventolin on DVD. Or just do an all

the 'im the fucking daddy' sample was originally used in
come on my selector, which is on the dvd.

anyways.. it was kinda disappointing.. only an exerpt of
flex, the short version of the nissan commercial (which has
like a second of the actual boc track) none of his rare
videos, the videos he put on are all great of course, but
i've seen them all a million times.
the making of all is full of love was pretty neat though.

as for other recently purchased music related dvds, i'd
recommend getting the cinematic orchestra rerelease of man
with a movie camera

on the bleep version.. from the aforementioned interview..

"GONDRY Sometimes I compare Bjork to Duke Ellington, or
somebody like that. She's a great composer, but she can also
find qualities in people that they don't even know they
have. I remember I was in Bjork's house in Iceland, and she
told me about a video Chris had done. But I think I
misunderstood what she said. I thought you had written a
dialogue where all the bad words created a pattern, then
replaced the bad words with beeps. I was so jealous - that
was the best idea!

CUNNINGHAM That was one of the things I wanted to do with
"Windowlicker," by Aphex Twin [the electronic composer
Richard D. James]. I told Richard he could bleep the
dialogue in tempo - it would be a good way to bring the
track in. He was up for it, in theory, but when it came time
to actually do the work, he couldn't be bothered. So I took
the beeps out, in the end."
