I don't see much mention of them on this board? What do
you guys think of them?

It's been a couple of years since i gave em a listen. I
kinda actually forgot about MoM.

Might have to dip back in there!

if it's not on warp, rephlex, or planet mu don't expect it
to be talked much about here (although there have been
several MoM threads in the past, according to the
dustytrusty search function)

They alternate with RDJ as my favorite electronic artist.

I like all their albums, especially Autoditacker, Glam, and
Instrumentals.

When will we see a new album? I haven't seen any news for a
long time.

I have a feeling some people don't like them because a lot
of their music is a bit silly and knob-twiddly. This is
precisely why I like it, though.

Actually there are few discussions about SKAM artists as
well. :)

a little bit of skam, a little bit of schematic.. i'm
generalizing of course but i think there really is an
underlying reluctance to bring up certain artists because
people figure no one wants to talk about them or doesn't
know them well enough to say anything. it's not totally
unfounded; most of these threads are pretty small.

I think their last two albums are really interesting, much
more so than the older stuff that I have heard, and imo are
up there with BoC or Plaid. I remember seeing a Matmos
thread on here recently, and I think the stuff that Mouse on
Mars have been doing is pretty similar stylistically.

I think Idiology was their latest. That was 2001 I believe.

Well agit itter it it came out in 2002, but there's been
nothing since then except for a compilation appearance or
two.

I wonder if any of the their side projects like Microstoria
have been active, though.

They are beyond amazing. Most of the time I can't understand
how they good about getting their sounds, let alone work it
into a song. Niun Niggung is my favorite album.

They're great, I've heard everything but Vulvaland.
Instrumentals is probably my favorite, though the tracks run
a bit too long for my tastes. Nion Niggung close second.

I love MoM... Pinwheel herman, Dispothek, Albion Rose.. Omg
these songs (among others) rule.. their sounds have so much
grit for the most part... its great.. I only dont like their
songs with vocals... a bit too cheesy for me.

seems like no one noticed the collection of ep and
miscellaneous tracks called "rost pocks," which came out a
few months ago.

mouse on mars is unique and rich with sonic details, with a
well-developed sense of humor but more importantly a very
broad emotional palette. the best album is "autoditacker,"
i think. (though i actually disliked the "actionist respoke"
single and most of the last proper album, "idiology")

i posted a topic a few weeks ago about the recent
collaboration between Herbert and MoM that just came out
called DJs Collapse... it's a pretty good 7"... but no one
seemed to care... which is pretty standard, when it comes to
any topics i start... a handful of people in the know... or
no one at all...

MoM are amazing.

Check: Subsequence and also: Actionist Respoke- this is one
wild tune. really jumpy.

Ive been listening to them for a while now like three years.
Found thier site in random conditions.
