ok, i drove 1200km in 10 hours yesterday and it fucked me up a bit, was spaced out and wired.
also drove to Portugal from Holland last year in 12 hour segments.
anyone else felt the madness of distance driving?

1200km in 10 hours means 120km per hour average which is amazing after 10 hours of driving considering stops, heavy traffic, going through towns...
that means you drove at 160 or more many times during the trip
thats crazy

my average speed record is in a much shorter trip:
560 km in 4 hours = 140 km per hour average

Man that's some heavy driving. I'm pissed after 3-4 hours of it.

Nice! I'd love to live in a country w/o speed limits/poorly enforced ones.
Most/fastest I've driven is 450 miles/724km in about 7.5 hours. Most of the journey was early morning during a holiday period so there was little traffic on the road hence I could go so quickly.

i averaged about 140kmh, one stop at 5 hours, it does get abit weird, eyes start to go and shit.
and one foot on the gas, my leg started to lock up.
driving to portugal was amazing, 2 stops, one in the mountains in the south of france and one in Bilbao. then from Bilboa straight through to the algarve across thge spanish mountains, the Espidumuras or something, great stuff

Yeah, I started getting cramps in my accelerator leg in the last half hour... there was nowhere to pull over though so I kept going. Wasn't a problem till it came ot parking when my fine motor control was shot to bits :-/

Shit yeah! I'd forgotten about that. I drove like a nutter for that. I barely had my foot off the accelerator the whole time. The only time I did was stopping at the Petrol Station and in a small Traffic Jam. I got home in about half the time it took to get there. WIKKA!

I once drove from here to new york city at 4 AM on a saturday morning, met up with some friends in the city, hung out there that day, and drove back that night. I hadn't slept since thusday, so I was having some bad hallucinations and paranoia. I could've killed myself, or someone else. Couple of times I nearly veered off the lane. Don't drive while drowsy!
