No Spokes Talk?

i love spokes. but lots dont i guess. people ive talked to
say plaid lost the "charm" that was on double figure or
other albums. which may be so, but i dont think it was meant
to be there for this particular album. comparing something
like spokes to double figure wouldnt work because they are
entirely different. like comparing tri repetae to something
like confield; distinctively different.

in the back of my mind i always wanted them to make
something like this, even if tons of people didnt like it.
its basically all elements of plaid i liked the most and
made an album entirely from them. i definitely didnt want
another double figure. i like double figure but something
about it bugged me.

and it seems im alone mostly on this one. at least here. i
really dont know what people were expecting, all the people
who like plaid but hate spokes. it sounded like a clearly
natural progression to me. listen to stills, itsu, miami
vice, quickemit. then listen to spokes.

i pray to god that people can make the connection.

That seems funny. New Plaid album, with really amazing
songs and no talk about it yet. What gives?

Ahh, I see. Is the new Fred Durst solo album out and that's
what everyone is so excited about?

Seems funny no one is tired of Radiohead ripping of
electronic artists and doing a really bad job at it.

The departure in mood is probably due to the fact that Not
For Threes, Rest Proof Clockwork and Double Figure were a
trilogy if I remember rightly. Spokes is the start of
something new. I love it, and find it easier to listen to
than other previous Plaid albums. Its more consistent and I
don't find myself occasionally waiting for a better song to
come on like I did with their previous albums.

Plaid is great, and Spokes represents just that.

35 topics so far containing "spokes AND plaid". topics
covering 'spokes' alone, is twice that, but may have been
used in other contexts.

Not too fond of Rest Proof Clockwork (but I should perhaps
give it a 2nd chance). Spokes, Double Figure, P-Brane and
Booc are nothing short of amazing though.
