mappatazee, tibbar, elusive seems to've figured out a way to
get his own server... a place to store large amounts of
files [read: MP3s] for access by the public [read: us],
somewhere on his school's network.

he also seems to be allowing people to set up their own
accounts with him so that the can upload their own files to
this server. i'm assuming it'll allow anonymous login for
download. meaning, everyone will be able to get files from
his server, but only a few will be able to upload. contact
him quickly to get reserve some space for yourself and your
files.

if its 192.*.*.* anything then it won't work. Its not an
ouside IP addy.

Ftps are great, but your an idiot without question for
abusing a machine on your school network.

"and your an idiot for posting such shit in this thread no

Negative, the cause has nothing to do with the means.

You want an ftp, get a legit one. Host one yourself on your
pc, or talk someone into hosting one. I have no problem
with the "cause".

Secondly if you notice my thread was actually intended to
help. THe 192 address is good for nothing. No one will be
able to get to that except him, on the inside of their
school network. Its a private IP address.

Sorry my posts are juvenile, and plagued with annoying caps
lock and lack of punctuation. May i just dont fit in. :)

I'm 20.
I'm also a level 3 network engineer for a worldwide
enterprise and engineer, build infrastructure, and deploy
equipment.

Please don't "educate" me on mindless IP classes.

Pfffft....

Oh, and about the ethics of doing so on said network; Let's
get one thing straight. My school is completely fucked up.
They still have rampant virii issues that I have spoken with
tech leaders and said I would rebuild the entire campus
network for them (for some free semesters or paid contract
work). You don't understand, this school is ass-backwards
and knee dip in shit and they really aren't effectively
working at stopping it.

So let's see, if I (I have access to all switches on the
network, and they no longer have em, so I could take down my
school in a matter of minutes); So I have cleaned up some
virus traffic myself (sniffing traffic and alerting those
said computers i've found infected).

So wouldn't it seem fair for me who has just stopped
multiple virii from eating up bandwidth on the network, to
USE that bandwidth I saved for myself.

It's only upstream anyways.

Everyone just downloads shit.

Oh and the "I OWNT MY FUCING SCHOOL" is quite elementary. I
just found out they are multinetting the networks on the
same router interface, thus all traffic from the NAT'd 16bit
Class B network is on the live addressing network.

Simple as that.

The whole reason I don't have an FTP there right now
is b/c of the obvious NAT/Port-Forwarding Issue.

But since these networks live on the same
vlan/wire/interface, it's simply a matter of assigning a
static address.

Done Deal.

'lusive...you rock! hahaaa
Wish *I* had your skillz...
Actually, I am a CCNA dropout, but all the better, right?
Wasn't my fault anyhow. Actually, I got a great story from
taking that "class".. I found a NetMsg batch file on this
desktop, edited it a bit, seeing how I was just using NT
4(WHAT a fucking joke for a CCNA class, shoulda used LINUX),
I just found the user "Secretary" from good ol' Net
Neigborhood and sent her hundreds of NetMsg's saying "You've
been hacked!!!!!". Tell me THAT'S not funny! Only bad thing,
it sent the station number with the message (any way around
that?) so she called back there to the class asking what the
fuck was going on! Needless to say, it was hard holding my
laughter in. Good times! STOKED about the eff tee!! I have
TONS of AFX I still need to borrow ;-)
