There was a 17th century German anatomist named Gantzer, but
I doubt that has anything to do with it?

"Gantze" in yiddish means "all" or "whole"

at least that's what I learned in German class.

It can be used to signify that, but its actual
meaning is "whole", or "wholly" if used as an adjective. A
closer approximation of "Graf" would be "earl" or "count", I
think; "duke" being more similar in meaning to "Herzog".
As I annoyingly don't have Gantz Graf, I can't comment on
how likely I think it that there's any relation to this,
though from what I've read here I don't think there is
much.

(this post brought to you by being annoyed by thing in the
background grabbing the keyboard focus without at least
having the decency to also come to the foreground and make
me notice it before I continue typing)

Thing in the background is grabbing me. Make me type like
caveman. Angry.
