PLONE - whatever happened to ...

... and silence befell the land ... after 'for beginner
piano'. =( whatever happened to these folks? i loved the
quirky bordering on kitsch analogue vibe of their debut, but
they have since vanished from the warp roster. last i heard
was a mention in an interview by the gal from Broadcast of
the fact that the 2nd album of theirs is finished, if anyone
cares to release it.

so the question is, does anyone know what's going on with
Plone?

In an earlier thread about Plone, someone said that one of
Plone's members died of cancer.

I LOVE the track on WAP100, i wouldn't mind getting their
first album actually.

Is it any good? Is it similar to the track on the Warp
Compilation?

one member of Plone records under the name of "Mike in
Mono". we had him play at the venetian snares/u-ziq/frog
pocket night in Brum beginning of this month.

He plays mad 8 bit computer music mixed with some modern
sounds. Really cool stuff.

Mike in mono

I searched Discogs, but nothing. It is strange that no one
else picked up their second album and released it. I mean,
the had a name...

Nooo dont beleive him! plaything is the best plone have ever
done by far, For beginner piano has a few good tracks (bibi
plone is my fav) but about half the tracks are dark and
atmospheric, and all are more repetative than the constant
movement of plaything.

quit exagerating!

it goes dark for like 1 track.

and it IS mostly sunny goofy wonderland kinda stuff!!!!

90%

For once, I gotta go with pop opinion.

For some reason, this record, 'FEELS' a lot like Cornelius'
Fantasma, only with less sampling and a little less Japanese
- school weirdness.
